I really do. You've stuck with me for years and have never failed me. I'm embarrassed to admit how many times I've read Persuasion and Pride and Prejudice. So I won't. But it's a lot.
For my tip of the day, I'm going to rate the works of my favorite ESSENTIAL romantic novelist, urge you to go re-read your favorite and then go pick up where I left off yesterday.
Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion are tied for my favorite. Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey and Emma are tied for second, and when I need a little Austen in a short amount of time, Lady Susan works well.
If you'd like a copy of the Jane Austen Complete and Unabridged Collection, too, tell me if you love Jane Austen like I do.

I love Jane Austen!!! Now I will have to read P & P again, it's about time.
I don't need Jane, cause I have all Jane. Got into her when I was in a bad marriage and needed an escape from reality!
I have never read Lady Susan.. I don't even know what it is about .. How sad is that?
Jane Austen I love you more than anyone... we'd so have hung out together!!!!! ;-)
Well, I must admit that I only saw the movies. But I loved them. Does that count? lol
I LOVE me some pride and prejudice!
Angie, you may want to sit down for this, I have a confession.
::hanging my head down low::
I've never read a Jane Austen novel. There I said it, I know, shame on me.
I LOVE to read so perhaps my next book purchase will be a Jane, which one do you recommend first?
~angie~
alas, i won't enter, as i have all the aforementioned books. but i did have to comment in support and admiration! loving the tea party and GREAT to hear from you.
My favorite book is pride and prejudice. I have read it 11 times lol yeah I am that much of a dork!
Oh wow, I have not been with Jane since high school. I gave up reading for awhile but recently got T.O.T.A.L.L.Y hooked again.
i have yet to read jane austen...is that awful or what? i have been meaning to, ever since my sister fell in love with the books in college, but i just haven't. i would love to win this so i can finally cross something off of my to do list!
I have picked up Pride and Prejudice about 10 times and never read it. Thanks for the chance!
I've checked the books out of the library but I've never made the time to read them...sounds like I'm in good company here. I know the books have to be good for you to love them so much but how in the world do you get interested in them?
Oh, I do!! I rediscovered my love of Austen after my stepdaughter was assigned Pride and Prejudice. She'd never read anything like it before so I helped her through it by reading the first few chapters out loud. It was fantastic!
P&P is my all-time, #1 favorite book. LOVE it! Elizabeth Bennet rocks!
I have never read Pride and Prejudice but its on my list of books to read this deployment.
I have Pride and Prejudice on my bookshelf, but have never read it. I intended to do so... maybe I will with the weather getting colder.
Thank you for the giveaway.
I am an avid reader, I will read anything I can get my hads on. Sadly, I have never read Jane Austin. I think it's about time I do. A trip to the library is in order! I would love to win a set of them for myself!
I love love LOVE Pride and Prejudice. But that is the only Jane Austin book I've read. I wonder why?
Of all jane austen's books, i love pride & prejudice the most. Darcy is such a darling! How nice if he could just sweep me off my feet. :)
I'll love to win this for my sister. She loves collecting any literature works, especially jane austen's works. We're a big fan of her books!
Thanks for the giveaway..
Cheers,
Melody

Crystal(manhattandolls@gmail.com)
WOW. If there's any book out there that i'll ABSOLUTELY recommend, it'll definitely be jane austen's books. They're such a timeless classic & should be on everyone's shelf to pick up to read. Love it!
tan.huishan@gmail.com
I'll dearly love to have a copy. I have the terrible shortened versions which isn't as great as the original unabridged version.
dancerinthemaking@gmail.com
I have NEVER read her works. Or even seen the movies based on her works. How I got to be in my 30s without being exposed to Miss Jane I don't know. So I would LOVE to win, so I can feel all grown up!!!
give_me_a_latte at yahoo
I LOVE Jane Austen, she herself fascinates me along with all these books she's written! Never read Persuasion though!
Oh my I love my Jane Austen! I have to stop myself from talking like they do when I'm in the middle of one of her novels.
Not that you asked but the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice is my favorite version. Colin Firth IS Mr. Darcy! :)
I really like Sense and Sensibility.
I love Jane Austen.
I read Sense and Sensibility a looong time ago and Pride and Prejudice most recently. I'd say Pride and Prejudice is my favorite from the collection.
I'm afraid I'm more into Plath, Sexton and Kafka but I'd love to reconnect!
What a very appropriate giveaway for the tea and for you!
Okay, I have to say, I really am surprised at how many ladies have not read Jane! I know for me it is the "raising young children" project that has diminished my reading time, but this post just might be the inspiration they need to enlighten their days with Ms. Austen. They truly are timeless classics.
I am particularly excited to enter this give away due to the fact that there is no Public Library in Grants Pass!!! It's been closed since we moved here a year ago, I am going through serious withdrawals!
Thanks for the Tea Party Angie!
I've never read Jane Austen! Although I have been meaning to since I've heard all of her books are really good. I just haven't gotten around to getting any of her books yet, although she's on my want to read list! Thanks for entering me.
I absolutely ADORE Jane Austen. I've read quite a few of her books but I just can't get enough!
I am ashamed to admit that I have never read any of Jane Austens books. I have seen several of the movies and have always wanted to read her books, just never squeezed them in.
I've never read your favorites...sad and pitiful, huh? This summer I asked for book recommendations and these were on your list, along with the book I chose to read. Now, that title is escaping me....was about the twins, one with downs...EXCELLENT story!
Sorry to have missed your first day of the tea party...sick ones here!
I havn't read any eather, sowwwwwy!! But your passion has mde me very curious, so I just might have to check em out ;) LA
Like many who have commented I am ashamed to say I haven't read much of Jane. I am going to do a bit of research and see if they're for me.
Jane Austen and I have put in a lot of quality time together. I would put Sense and Sensibility above Persuasion on my personal list.
I don't need the books, so don't pick me. This is a great giveaway though!
I love these books! I would love a copy even more :)
Ooh! I'm intrigued! I've enjoyed many of these books, but I've never read Lady Susan. I'll have to check it out!
My favorites are Emma and Sense and Sensibility.
I wish I was more commital when it somes to reading. This may be a good collection to start for my SIL for Christmas though. I'm looking to replace some of her collections, so I'll see if she needs these. I may ask for some other recomendations too Mrs. Angie. I'm stuck in the book department! :o)
My husband and I both LOVE Jane Austen. I would love to have the complete unabriged collection!!

I've actually never read anything by Jane Austen, but I've seen the movie Pride and Prejudice a bunch of times. Though, it's the Keira Knightley version and my friends who have read the books told me that it's a bad version and I should watch the mini-series instead.
have you seen all of the movies?!?!?
delicious.
I am a Jane Austin FANATIC. This is the most awesome giveaway ever!!!!
Persuassion is *so* good, although Dr. Darcy is Ride and Prejudice is so irresistible. I cannot choose a favourite.

I like how an author I read about is following up on one of the character's from a Jane Austen book!
Have you read about this book?!
I have seen the movie and mini-series. Great work! Thanks, Cindi
jchoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com
I admit, I've never read a Jane Austen book. You may just have convinced me to try one though.
Yes, I DO love Jane Austen! I love her books and I love (some) of the movies make from her books. I have yet to read Lady Susan, but I want to!
frog123 (at) cyipcom (dot) net
I am a Jane Austen virgin too.
I love Jane Austen! My favorites are Mansfield Park and Pride & Prejudice. I've read them, and reread them.......have you seen Becoming Jane? I thought that was a beautiful show.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Jane Austin! Not a closet jane Austin reader either. Happily display my collection for the world to see & have started my daughters on her beautiful works! Would LOVE this for my daughter Stephanie for a Christmas present. She'll be turning 15 and has just hit the age of real appreciation of the classic :)
I love Jane Austen, the books and the movies! My favorite is Emma.
Oh and did I mention that I visted Jane Austen's grave when I was in my early twenties. At that time I had no idea how I would grow to love her and her books. I wish I could go back and redo moments like that now.
I have a lot of those "if I knew then what I know now... kind of moments.
You know I was chatting with some buddies of mine about Jane Austin. I've never read any of her books. I suppose it is time huh???
I gave you an award for your awesome blog!! Stop by and grab it!
I am a Jane Austin newbie. I have always wanted to read her books but have always felt so overwhelmed with my day to day crazy life that I did not just set aside the time. Recently, I purchased a copy of Sense and Sensibility and I am super excited to read it.
you know, I am really embarrassed to say this but I have never read a Jane Austin book. You have made me curious.
This is a great giveaway, and sadly, I've only read Pride & Prejudice. I'd love to get my hands on some more, if I could ever find the time to read again.
Hope your tea party is going well!
Guess what my husband is reading at the moment? Pride & PRejudice... he is too great...
Our tastes just keep coming up the same!!!! I love, LOVE, Jane Austen
I do love Jane Austen! I just watched The Jane Austen Book Club, and it inspired me to read Persuasion, which I am sad to say I've never read.

Something is wrong with your Mr Linky
My daughter loves these books, she is only 10 years old, so I would love to win this for a Christmas gift for her. I would read them aloud to her at night.
I really really loved Pride and Prejudice, even read it several times, but somehow never read any other Jane Austen novels. I don't know why that is, but it would be so lovely to remedy this sad situation.
I've never read any of her books. I need to though because I see so many people talk about how great they are.
I do! I do! Maybe even more... have you read every book and seen every version of every movie based on every book she's written? ;-) I'm pretty sure I have. :-)
Thanks for the great giveaway, I haven't had a set of her books since I got married - isn't that awful???

Oh my gosh, I was so excited to see your giveaway! I LOVE Jane Austen. I am one of her biggest fans. If you really know the true story of her own life, you see where she got a lot of her inspiration for her various novels. I'm a writer too, and shes one of my inspirations.
Thanks so much for this fantastic contest, and I hope I win!

I love Jane Austen -- have since I was quite young -- I used to spend summers as a young girl sitting in our basement on top of the big freezer reading Austen :-)
vmlay@artsci.wustl.edu
I do love Jan Austen! The next book that I really want to read is Persuasian!
I am embarrassed to say that I haven't read anything by Jane Austen. I just realized that last week actually and I can't figure out how it managed to escape me. I'm an avid book reader but I'm discovering that I've missed many of the classics and I am disgusted. The good news is that I have a treasure trove of literature that awaits me!
Oh, you know how I feel about Jane Austen...
...and Mr. Darcy.
I am totally embarrassed to admit that I haven't actually read ANY Jane Austen novels. Hanging my head in shame...
I am a avid reader , I havent read all Ms austen's books so this will fill the gap for me. thank you for a awesome prize

Hi, just crashing the tea party to offer support.
S and S as well as Emma are tied for Austen favs. Though I am more of an E.M.Forster, Faulkner sorta gal if I am reading older novels and oddly, usually only read books written by women if they are newer titles.
Thanks for visiting my blog the other day.
I loved Pride and Prejudice, I remember people being surprised when I read it again after it was no longer required reading, fools didn't know a good book!
mommyhoodisthankless{AT}gmail.com
I love Jane Austen. Her voice is perfect. I love how witty, funny, and deep her characters can be. It is hard to pick one, but it might be Emma just because that is the first one I read. Although Mansfield Park and P&P are fantastic. Once I fall in line with the language I often forget how long ago they were written.
I love Jane Austen, and, for me, Persuasion is far and away the best of her novels. It is so subtle and moving!

I do! I love Jane Austen!

I'll love to win this! I've loved jane austen's books since my elder sis introduced her books to me..
Thanks for the chance.
tan.huishan@gmail.com
You introduced me to Jane Austen and I think I love her works just as much!
I've only read Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility; Emma is next on my list! (although you're making me think maybe I should read Persuasion next...)
missebmeade at gmail dot com
pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite. I have not read all of her other books but I need too. I just never remember to get them.
I love Pride and Prejudice (just re-read it two months ago) but I have never read her other works. This would be a great opportunity.
akreese (at) hotmail (dot) com
Nope, not a Jane Austen fan, although I think it's the time period that irriates me rather than her writing. It's just so constrained back then and I just want someone to tell them to go to Hell.
I have a few actual romance writers I read, but when I just need distraction, I read Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. I took it into the delivery room - both times. I don't dare pick one of her books up unless I've got a big chunk of time to read.
Yes, I'm a die hard Jane Austen fan and Pride and Prejudice is my most favorite novel from her collection, Elizabeth is wonderful and Mr Darcy is just delicious:)
I've never read a Jane Austen book, but my daughter absolutely LOVES her! I have seen the movie versions of several of her books, and I watch Sense & Sensibility about once a year. I should read the books....I really should.
I've heard only great things about Jane Austen, but have never had the pleasure of reading any of her books! I would love to though!
jls_wss2003 at yahoo dot com
I love Jane Austen.. I don't own any of her books though.
