Around the Blogosphere

In order to draw attention to the creation of our network, Mighty Media is hosting a week-long event beginning September 21 known as Around the Blogosphere in 5 Days. Our intention is to follow the virtual journey of Moxie Media’s mascot as she travels around the U.S., “visiting” the sites of approximately 65 different blogs.

Our group will also promote the trek on a variety of Moxie’s social media outlets, including the network’s Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, YouTube Channel, and Flickr Photo Stream.

Prior to the start of the event, a mascot, lovingly named Moxie Mona was mailed to each of the participant’s homes. We asked all bloggers to write a post about where they live and showcase themselves with our mascot in their part of the U.S. Bloggers were also encouraged to use different types of media, such as photographs and video, to capture their time with Moxie Mona.

A complete list of the participants, as well as their respective post dates, is included below. All of Moxie Media’s founding members, including Better in Bulk, Mayhem & Moxie, Mama’s Losin’ It, Scary Mommy, and Seven Clown Circus will be hosting these links on their blogs for the duration of the event. Readers will also be able to join in on the fun by participating in various writing carnivals that will be revealed soon.

We hope you will follow along as Moxie Mona travels around the U.S. She is sure to have the adventure of a lifetime!

Best Of

Three of my favorite posts are included in my SITS (The Secret is in the Sauce) feature.

You should know that a defining period of my life occurred when I was pregnant with my twins. Their form of twinning is rare and dangerous, and spending a season in the hospital gave me lots of time for introspection. You can read about monoamniotic twins here, and my story here. You can see how I felt about coming home here.

I feel strongly about hearts, optimism, and my heritage.

Wanna know my potty training secret? You'll find it here.

For a few of the greatest guest posts ever, start here and scroll through late March/early April.

About Me

If you are here for the first time, or even if you are not, you should know that Angie is a word loving, book devouring, designer jean obsessed mama to 5. With red hair. She's also a sunshine hoarding, organizationally devout, stringer of letters, words and paragraphs.

Besides running what she considers a tight ship at home, she's an excellent calendar annotator. Most of the time. She cooks dinner for her family every single night. Or so it seems. She would die without her X-large sized washer and dryer. With steam. She's a bit over the top in the frequency in which she vacuums. But she's working on it. She wants to be a published novelist. Someday. When her children are all in school she wants to finish her Master's Degree, so she can say she has one. She likes to be in charge. Basically all the time.

She loves the interaction that blogging affords her, and enjoys hearing from you.

If you'd like to contact Angie, please do so by emailing her.

You can also find her at Moxie Media.

Out On A Limb

Who We Are:
The Out on a Limb Advertising Network is composed of four separate blogs, including Mama’s Losin’ It, Mayhem & Moxie, Scary Mommy, and Seven Clown Circus. Each site is authored by mothers who, in between balancing the challenges of family, life, and work, possess a passion for writing and sharing experiences through blogging. Our sites attract not only Power Moms – women age 25-54 with at least one child – but also online users who vary in gender, race, age, familial status, educational background, employment status, and geographic location.

Our Network’s Statistics (as of September 1, 2009):
Page Views per Month: 71,364
Unique Visitors per Month: 44,205
Subscribers through e-mails and RSS feeds: 7,581

What We Do:
The goal of the Out on a Limb Network is to utilize our collective web traffic to connect our readers with an equally diverse group of businesses. This is accomplished by hosting graphic ads on our respective blogs, as well as by creating customized social media packages for businesses.

Graphic Ads:
Our network offers graphic ad spots to businesses interested in marketing their products or services on-line. These 125 x 125 ads (shown below) are featured on all four blogs within our network.

Customized Social Media Packages:
Our network also offers customized packages to businesses interested in creating a social media presence on websites such as Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. Most impressive in this package is a personalized Twitter account with at least 1,000 followers by the end of the project. By partnering with our network, businesses can create a base of followers and fans to further enhance their marketing efforts.

We look forward to understanding how our network may support your business needs. Please contact our network at outonalimbadvertising@gmail.com to inquire about ad spots or for a complete list of social media packages.
