*Wordful Wednesday is for those of us that like to showcase a photo(s) but that just can't seem keep our mouths shut about it(them). If you'd like to play along, post a photo on your blog, and let the words roll. Feel free to "capture" my 7 Clown Circus button (below and on the left) or simply hyperlink to my site, and be sure to add yourself to Mr. Linky. Thanks for playing along!
For the past few weeks I've tried out having a prompt IF and only IF you would like to use it.
BUT, it's becoming more and more apparent to me that I don't do well with prompts if they are my own. So. I broke the rules and decided that Halloween pictures were more appropriate than sleeping pictures as Halloween draws near. You'll forgive me if I hold off on the sleeping prompt until next week, won't you?
This week the prompt was supposed to be: Sleeping. Kids sleeping.......you sleeping. Your dog sleeping. Totally up to you.
Instead, I made it "Ghosts Of Halloween Past". Post pictures and descriptions of Halloween Past. This could be a memorable Halloween from when you were a child or simply a cute story and picture from past years. If you are contributing to this theme as an entry into the Flip camera giveaway please put an asterisk next to your blog name when you enter it into Mr. Linky.
A Halloween that stands out in my mind is one a few years ago...quite a few years ago where we had a family Halloween party and we actually all came in costume. A few of my favorite costumes of the attendee's are shown below.
Ms. Piggy and Kermit the Frog. Just in case you are wondering, Ms. Piggy is really a man and Kermit is really a woman. Ms. Piggy has nice legs, doesn't she?
And Popeye and Olive Oil. Perfection.
I never think of great costumes like these. Sigh. If you have any ideas for me for next year, I welcome your comments!
My question for the day if you would like another Flip Ultra HD entry is: "What Halloween Prank would you like to capture with a Flip camera?"

These are so clever! I can never think of good Halloween costumes either. I've worn my hospital work scrubs for the past few years.
Boring!
LOL, I just love Popeye and Olive Oil!!
http://mutheringheights.blogspot.com/2009/10/maize-maze.html
The Popeye and Olive Oyl one is great!! We don't really do much Halloween-ing around here, so I'm really missing out on all the fun!
Oh, I love the Ms. Piggy and Kermit the Frog...that's too funny! I'm looking forward to try 'sleeping' for next week because I completely forgot to capture it this week!
Love that Miss Piggy and Kermit picture!
Those are great costumes! I think you should fulfill my dream and dress your entire family up as the cast of The Wizard of Oz. I can do it with a few characters but you could do the entire main cast!
Hmmmm. Halloween prank.... I don't know. I never really participated in one before. I guess I would want to capture the one that was played on me so that I could nail the perpetrators.
I forgot to put the asterisk by my name in Mr. Linky. Can I still have my five extra entries? Please?
Now for my real comment. I am not very good at the whole costume thing but if I have have to go to a costume party I would want to be 'Cloudy with a chance of rain'.
I would wear a gray sweatshirt with cotton balls glued on. I would carry a spray bottle and when ppl asked me what I was I would spray them as I told them. I would also LOVE to have the Flip camera to capture the whole thing. It would be AWESOME! ;)
I love the costumes. I need to get in the mood but I am not really a Halloween person. I do it for my baby - because who wants to miss out on an opportunity to dress their child up?
When we were younger we used to toilet paper people's houses. I think that would be fun to capture with a flip!
Classic old pics! And I just like plain old jump out from behind the door and scare the tar out of kids! I'm mean like that...
Hey, first time here at Wordful Wednesday! Love all your Halloween shots. I'm so behind I'll probably post mine around Christmas!
okay i wrote this yesterday so not exactly a wordful wednesday but it is some ghosts of Halloween past here under the Big Top.
and oh yes, i linked y'all up and told you why i want/need/must have that amazing Flip.
Great costumes! I haven't dressed up in years!
Love the Kermit and Miss Piggy!
I love Miss Piggy and Kermit the frog! Miss Piggy's legs are HOT! lol!!
I love the popeye and olive oil costume. So cute. What did you dress up as for the party?
great pictures and costume ideas. hubs and i only dressed up one year, as a married couple, back in 2000. he was Magnum, P.I. and i was a fairy. i dress up the last few Halloweens when we go out with kiddo. i go as a witch. it matches my personality. happy WW and take care.
I've always wanted to go to a party and go and Bonnie and Clyde.
I forgot to put the ** by my name...oh well.
You ever seen when someone sits on the front lawn in a chair dressed as a scarecrow and everyone wonders if he's real, and when someone finally goes up to see and they get the wits scared out of them....that's what I would capture on Flip
Great costumes!! Too cute!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Olive Oil/Popeye costumes!!!
Oh my gosh! That Popeye and Olive Oyle is such a great idea : )
And LOVE Ms. Piggy's legs : ) Hotness for sure!
I never come up with anything very clever either... I always think of it AFTER the holiday. LOL
LOVE Miss Piggy's SHOES! AWESOME :)
Happy WW!
so is that you in those pics angie? they're gorgeous!
i've always wanted to the gladwrap (clingfilm) on the toilet seat - does that even count?
tamer, would be vomit flavoured jelly beans!!!
Wow, Popeye and Olive Oil are AWESOME!!! :)
Should attempt to dig out some of ours, too ;)
not sure if it would be a prank but the look on my kids face during the whole booing of our neighbors has been priceless!
My mother comes up with the best costume every year.
This year, I'm going as Sarah Palin.
The arrival of my cousin and her brood. They always have an amazing costume for the whole family.
Those are great costumes! I can't even remember the last time my husband and I dressed up for Halloween. How fun! :)
fred and wilma!
we won a contest with it
i would use my flip to film scaring my friends with those pop up scurry videos on the computer.
xoxo
I love 'his' pink shoes.. WOW they are HUGE!!
The Ms. Piggy and Kermit cracked me up. I have no good suggestions for costumes, since Scott and I don't dress up. I think the last costumes we had were a witch and greek God. haha
I think the Kermit and Miss Piggy has got to be one of the most creative and hilarious costumes I've seen, especially since Miss Piggy is actually a man in your picture. And yes, she has lovely legs. :)
For a minute I thought you were going to tell us that YOU were Kermit...maybe next time. ;)
Hah - nice photo-finds :) Halloween is so fun...I love it!
LOVE Olive Oil! My dad use to make me watch Popeye and had me convinced that spinach would make me stronger. Still believe it to this day!
I love scaring trick or treaters! Every year my brother climbs into our tree in the front yard of our house and drops these large over sized spiders my dad made a few years ago down on them. That would definitely be the prank I would get on tape. I'm so sad I'll be missing it this year!
This will be my second time participating in Halloween. I don't know how to make my own costumes! lol
These are very interesting and works well. Yes Ms piggy has nice legs. LOL!!!
I'm off to enter your giveaway.
Happy WW to you!
Great costumes I love it
Oh your having an awesoe giveway where do I answer your ?
I'd luv to capture us TPin a friends house on Halloween lol
I would love to capture a good scare setup....which happens a little differently, but it's always completely priceless! The jump. The scream. The punch received by the person responsible. Yeah, I need that on film. :)
Most likely, that would be on Halloween night, having me hide in the bushes at my girlfriends house and JUMPING out at passersby/trick-or-treaters, hopefully with hilarious results :)
sales4545(at)gmail(dot)com
I'll say this much, Miss Piggy has the biggest legs I've seen on a pig ever! LOL! How on earth did he find pink heels to fit his feet?! Ha ha ha!
My cousin used to play Halloween pranks on us...so my impossible wish would be to travel back in time and capture those. He was the king of fun to us younger cousins.
wordygirl (at) earthlink (dot) net
I LOVE the Popeye and Olive Oil! Why can't I ever think of stuff like that?
As for a prank, anything where someone gets totally startled scared resulting in my hysterical laughter---for some reason other peoples fright is hilarious to me!
I'm thinking this year I'll either be white trash (wear a trash bag) or Holy Sh*t (wear all brown and a halo).
Popeye/Olive Oil, now that is so cute!
Very cool costumes of the past, Angie! I just added my link but I didn't have any pictures to share. They're all at my parents' house!
Okay, would love to video watching someone's house getting TP'd!!!! By an ADULT.
Justine :o )
those are cool costumes. My wife and I should dress up next yr.
Happy WW!
I love your Halloween photos!
If I had a flip, I'd set up a few scares for the kids and capture their reactions. :)
Can I answer your question with I don't know? I'm horribly uncreative and my in real life jokes and pranks don't really go over that well. Apparently, I'm much funnier online than I am in life. Go figure!
Growing up, my mom always loved to "surprise" (SCARE!) us. I would love to capture someone scaring her...just once.
My brother-in-law made the most amazing Barnie costume back in the day, which he wore to a neighborhood party and blew everyone away!--I'll have to search to see if I have a pic!
Blessings!
Love this, I do. As I love Halloween!!!
My Wordful this week is all about a "Lethal Beauty"...come by and see if you can.
those are brilliant! I love dressing up at Halloween! Everyone should do it!
Oh my gosh!! That Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog one is hilarious!!!
Those costumes are great!!
I would love to catch my son "Booing" our neighbor on film. It has become a Halloween tradition in our family to leave a little basket of goodies for our neighbor, ring the doorbell and run! My son uses it as an excuse for some kind of covert military strike complete with camo clothing.
jedoggett@embarqmail.com
I'm not much of a prankster... does putting the guinea pig inside of a jack o lantern for a photo op count as a prank?
Hmm, halloween prank....I'd have to say that it'd be funny to get on video my hubby eating the kids halloween candy and them waking up, asking where it is, and him saying "I don't know...." We KNOW it's him!!!
Oh man I missed the prompt this week...I'm posting a Halloween costume thing tomorrow...that's me, always a day late and a dollar short! :)
If I had a flip, I would totally set up some sort of prank that would be dinosaur related to capture Princess Nagger's reaction to it. Or we'd figure out a way to scare Dada and get it on video. ;)
Those are great costumes. My brother and sil went as Popeye and Olive Oil last year and it almost caused a family feud when my younger brother made a snide comment about how much sil did NOT resemble Olive Oil. Yikes.
What fun! I love Halloween. Couple's costumes can be so clever. It's been several years since I've dressed up, but I'd love to have a big costume only Halloween party.
Decking the house out with hidden spooks would be fun. Then just when everyone is relaxing with a nice cold beverage, I'd cue the spooks to pop out. That would be hilarious to capture on a Flip ;P
Brilliant costumes. I am not as creative!
I really love all of your costumes. I did the sleeping prompt and add some Halloween to it. Once I saw your prompt I had a perfect picture for a it. I can find another one for next week. Off to figure out what the Flip is...
Okay I feel so silly that I did not know this giveaway was going on. I am doing today's carnival with a twist.
I am not one who does pranks because I really do not like for them to be done on me I know. But I would love to prank my husband. I would tell him some silly story and catch his reaction.
cute costume, hmm for a prank how about giving out something silly like one penny to kids I am lost w/ a good prank
One entry for the flip for playing along in the fun. But I see I needed to add an asterisk sorry about that...
One entry...
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/bones.html
2nd entry
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/bones.html
3rd entry.
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/bones.html
Love the costumes! Popeye and Olive are too cute :)
I would love to capture any kind of prank on my daughter that would involve scaring her. Haha, probably sounds a little mean, but it would be fun to watch later.
well the only prank I can think of TP houses.
4th entry..
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/bones.html
5th entry....
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/bones.html
honestly, I've only just heard of this boo'ing thing. I think that sounds fun. But even more so...I think TPing my friends' house would be fun...or just Tristan's crib. That would be hilarious; he'd get a kick out of it. Even better to do it while he slept so he'd be like What when he woke up. lol
Loving the costumes... sorry i did not follow the promompt... i already had mine planned out. busy mom life makes me do all of my blogging the week ahead now... that is until we make our move and get settled and until i get the hang of being a mom to 2.... i need tips from you...
The Popeye and Olive costumes are so clever!
I'd love to capture the moment when there's a "scarecrow" sitting at the door and the unsuspecting child/teen goes up to get candy, then the scarecrow leaps up. Bwahh hahaha!
The Halloween Prank I would capture on my flip would be the smallest kids going up to the door for candy at different houses and get scared when someone answers the door with a scary costume !
We have a very large "spider" that hangs from the ceiling. It is movement-activated, so anyone walking under or near it makes it move. I'd love to catch some of the reactions on the flip!
Oh, I love Popeye and Olive! We're so lame. I have been wearing the same witch costume for years. One of these days I'll spice things up. Maybe.
Couple costumes are the best...except you need another half who is willing to play along.
That's the hard part for me! :)
xoxo
I remember a neighbor who went all out with the coffin in the yard and everything. I would love to capture him coming out of that coffin for a big group of kids (as long as I didn't have to be one of the scared ones).
I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years! Maybe this year is the year...
I would like to capture the pranks where something moves when you walk by it and scares the trick or treaters... but a nice scare, something friendly for the preschoolers too!
A prank? With three boys in the house and a goofy husband, I'll just be happy not to have the prank played on ME!
I think it would be fun to catch some giggling teenagers TPing someones house....as long as it's not mine.
Hmm, a halloween prank... well, I know it's quite naughty but I've always wanted (but never had the nerve) to do the flaming-bag-of-doggie-poop-on-the-front-porch trick where you ring the doorbell then run away, and the person who answers the door stomps on it to put the fire out. That would be HILARIOUS. But I don't really hate anyone enough anymore to do that prank. It's kinda mean. But I would totally film it!!!
Awesome photos!
As for Halloween prank I'd love to have on video? pdaddy and I were saying that he would lie down amongst the tombstones we set up and when trick-or-treaters come up the driveway, he would SPRING TO LIFE!
On our front porch we put a scarecrow and just once I would love to switch the scarecrow out with a real person and scare the crap outta my own kids with the scarecrow grabbing them. Hubs and I have talked about this, but have been waiting for them to get older! I think it would be awesome to do! (And very YouTube worthy!)

(this is my extra entry, right???)
How funny! I thought at first that those pictures were both of YOU, and I stared and stared at the Olive Oil picture imagining how it could look like you....and then I read what you had written about the party. LOL!
I love those pranks where people look like their they fake on the porch holding candy, and then they jump up and scare people when they go for a sugary treat. I'd definitely want to capture that prank.
We tried to pull a prank on my hubs the other day, my son was all about it:) We did the whole rubberband around the sprayer nozzle on the sink, ya know when he turned the sink on to wash his hand it would spray him:) well he turned it on but only a little so no real spray, I would like to try it again and get it on video, my son thought it was SO funny.
Olive Oil! That's a crack-up. And Miss Piggy? hahahaha!
I'll have to come back later and post my prank. Have to think about that one.
Cute costumes! I can't even believe Ms. Piggy found shoes that big to wear!
Pranks... that would have to be the old "scare crow" sitting on a chair with the bowl of candy on his lap that ***bwah ha ha ha*** comes to life when the kids grab for candy.
Those costumes are cleaver. Have a terrific Wednesday!
my oldest would love to hide in the shadows and scare his older friends when they come over. they'd love to watch themselves get scared!
Great costumes! I'm never that creative either unfortunately :-)
To be honest the only "prank" I can think of is toilet papering someones yard. I've never had it done and never done it to someone else though. I guess a flip would be good to have to catch the guilty parties if it ever happened to me huh? LOL
love the throwback shots! awesome!
I would love to catch my kids trying to scare someone on film.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Hi Sweetie, I'd love to capture on video this Halloween prank. Myself dressed up as the green and sexy M&M while my honey is trying to steal my M&M's I can replace then with hot and spicy candy. Maybe I could show this video at our rehearsal dinner =)
i'd like to see someone jumping out of the dark scaring my little ones
If I were to pull a Halloween prank and have it captured it on camera, I would want to capture one played on my Husband. He's hard to fool, prank, surprise etc...what the prank would be, I cannot say.....I have yet to be that creative, but it is a goal...prank the hubby somehow! hmmmm.....
I'd capture me scaring my kids when they walk in from the bus. I get them EVERY time. It's just too easy.
If I win the Flip it's going to my 13 year old. And to be honest with you, I SHUDDER to think what sort of Halloween prank he would capture with it. I'm sure it would be something involving other 13 year old boys. (Your SHUDDERING now too!)
It would be fun to capture my kids on film walking through a haunted house or maze. Screams of terror are priceless.
Not much of a pranker...too anal retentive for that. But I would capture (with my FLIP of course) kiddies getting scared by neighbors when they grab their treats.
Oh my gosh! Miss Piggy and Kermit are my fav!
Ooooo, a halloween prank! I'd love to have someone sit on my porch dressed up as a stuffed scarecrow so the kids that came trick or treating just thought it was a dummy. But then BOO! he jumps up and scares the crap out of them.
I'd love to get that on film!
I posted a Wordful Wednesday post today. I'm hoping for a Flip! Although, I would having posted anyway!
It's pretty much an annual event around here, but we always get my dad one of those fake lottery tickets.. you know the one that is ALWAYS a big winner. It's priceless.. and he's 2 for 2, so I can't wait to see how this year goes! Bwahahahahaha!
I'd love to see the Oozing Pumpkin prank in real life.
The idea video is posted here:
http://abcand123learning.blogspot.com/2009/10/experimenting-with-pumpkins.html
Very cute pics!!
Great photos and terrific costumes. I can never think of really good costumes until Halloween is over!!! Story of my life.
http://blondesherry.blogspot.com/2009/10/ww-scarecrows-on-square.html
Thanks for a fun party and a great giveaway!
I love the creativity that Halloween parties bring out, as well as the inner child. My favorite holiday!!
I could see my husband trying to scare the beejeezus out of me in some way (as I am a total baby about creepy stuff) and filming it.
Great costumes! I think the only ones my husband and I have done are the Phantom and Christine from The Phantom of the Opera. We bought a plain white plastic mask and cut it.
my cousin dressed as Edward Scissorhands one year and it was awesome..i need to find it...i till try to go dig it up in a few minutes and if I do i will scan and post on my blog then leave a link! I hope I can find it b/c it's classic and he won at the halloween contest that night.
He told me in FL where he lives now they had a Halloween contest at their university and one kid dressed at Ed from Christmas Vacation...white leather shoes the sweater and greasy comb over and all. Hilarious!
I would love to capture some great dress up's of adults at Halloween...too funny.
I would love to capture teenagers papering someone's house. I never did that but always wanted to. I think it is illegal now so I guess I won't.
I'm impressed Ms. Piggy can stand in those heals with those legs!!
I am not good with coming up with costumes either...this year hubby and I were a plug and socket...but it was still store bought!
http://www.hishersandours05.com/2009/10/wordless-wednesday-plug-socket.html
lol
Holy cow, I don't think I have ever been this far down on the list! :) Better late than never.
I could have been olive oil when I was younger...in fact it was one of my nick names. :)
I posted a silly costume idea on my blog (for PSF).
If I had a flip camera.. I would video my kids pranking my husband... I dont know how... but we would make it good.... =) because we would be videoing it.. =)
I'm awful at halloween pranks, probably just the houses that used to catch us by surprise as kids when someone would come out and spook the crap outta us!
I don't really know of any pranks, but I wouldn't mind capturing *other* people pulling the pranks, as I wouldn't want to get caught!!!
Those are too funny!
We have a fun adult Halloween party on Friday night. I would love to film all the crazy and inappropriate costumes!
I don't really do Halloween pranks - but I'm sure I could think of some if I had a Flip!
I had so much fun reminiscing with this one! THanks for hosting. I asterik-ed my name to enter in the contest!
Halloween pranks... i'm not much into that. One think I used to do was superglue quarters to the sidewalk and then watch people try to pick them up! It would have been fun to get that on a flip!
Those are great costume ideas! I haven't dressed up for Halloween as an adult. Sad huh? Maybe next year I will break the mold...
It'd have to be the year where I was egged hahaha even though I cried at the time, it'd be pretty funny to see now haha
ahellen@gmail.com
funnyest costume, at least the most interesting.
the couple was all dressed up yo the nines, as they walked away, the costume showed him in boxer, sox, and a garter, showed her, bra strap, panties, and nylons, you would never know from the front.
BIG HUGS
"What Halloween Prank would you like to capture with a Flip camera?"
Hmmmm thats a hard one.....I would have to say jumping out and scaring someone is funny...in a bizarre way. One year my son dressed as a monster and sat on the front porch pretending he was just a stuffed halloween decoration...omg did he scare some kids (and adults) that year...wish I would have had a Flip Cam back then!
I never come up with good Halloween costumes either. I haven't tried much lately though :)
And the prank I want to capture? It's the ^$@^%& kids in our neighborhood who steal our pumpkin after trick or treating and smash it in the street every year. I'm SO done with that.
I guess my post from the other day counts so I'm going hook it up ... I'll quick put your button in there! : )
And prank? How about me stealing my son's Halloween candy (only the good stuff) when he goes to bed? Happens every year!
love the costumes!
My best Halloween costume of all time is when I was a smurf in college. There's something about painting your face green like Popeye or blue like a smurf that translates to world class fun.
http://chefdruck.blogspot.com/2009/10/halloween-sneak-peak.html
Where I come from, there's hardly anything called Halloween pranks. So if I get to capture ANY prank at all,now that I'm here,I would! It'll be my first and hopefully I'm not IT.
Mr Piggy sure looks like he'll be scaring Ms Piggy away. :)
I would like to catch the pumpkin smashers and the egg bombers on video--just once :)
I'd like to catch some of those rotten kids who steal lil kids candy on camera so I could show their parents.
Super fun pictures!!
Love Popeye and Olive Oil. And thanks for the prompt. Had such a fun time looking through old Halloween pictures.
I like to see people scaring other people!
Love the Popeye and Olive Oil!
I'd like to see some grown-ups being pranked (and maybe scared) by kids. Turn the tables, ya know?
I real hand coming through the candy to grab at someone.
Something, anything scary my Husband. He never falls for anything.
dye gum. i think it's so funny when someones mouth is comepletely blue and they have no idea!
I love to sneak up and scare people so it would be fun to catch that. I always do it :)
