Tuesday's Tribute-Cars that burn

Tuesday's Tribute

What is it?
Well, we'll tell you what it is NOT... It's Not About YOU. It's about SOMEONE ELSE. It's our chance, each of us, to shine our light on someone else.

Huh? Whaddya mean?
We each spend a lot of time talking about ourselves and our lives, but we are also fairly GIVING people too...Tuesday's Tribute is a chance to talk about OTHER people, OTHER blogs, OTHER lives.

Now's your chance to shine your light on someone or something else.

Today I pay tribute to the fact that my car has never caught fire in the middle of the desert. Something I haven't particularly felt thankful for EVER in the past, but I am now.

Yes, I am now.

All it took was seeing THIS.

P.S. It looked like all of the passengers got out safely, and the car was the only casualty..........

I know a lady whose car caught on fire in the parking lot of the Christmas Tree Shop. I told her I would have done my shopping and then dealt with it. I mean, it was going to be trouble anyway so why waste the shopping trip.

Seeing a car on fire is crazy, right?! I never saw one until I moved to the East Coast and since I've been here (about 8 yrs) I have seen this happen on 3 separate occasions. Like, I never really knew car fires were a serious threat. Thought it was a movie thing or that it at least went out in the early 80s when Ford recalled the Pinto bbq cars. Apparently it did not! Crazy!

I saw a video clip from yesterday about a woman and her children who needed to rely on strangers to help them out of thier burning van. I too felt very thankful that I hadn't had that happen to me.

I have a confession......
Anytime I see things like this I often, ok always Thank God that it isn't me. I am glad that everyone got out. I guess it is one of those things that you see and just say "I'm glad thats not me"

That is a great tribute to gratitude. We had a horrible accident here in Milwaukee where off-duty firefighters and by-standers saved a mom and her 2 young children from a firey fate. The best of humanity was shown on that day. It gives me hope and for that, I am grateful today:-)

Car fires are scary. It seems like the number increases exponentially as the temperature spikes along the drive up and down Highway 5, doesn't it?

Definitely something to be thankful for.

Car on fire has to be one of things I most shudder about.

wow! my car's never caught fire either, but i did have to pick up a girlfriend once who's car was on fire. i thought she was exagerating(sp?) until I got there and was able to find her via the giant smoke plume! she said she was driving along and flames all the sudden started shooting from the a/c vents. needless to say she pulled over and ran like hell from the car!
