Have you seen it?

Have any of you seen the new Gerber Graduates commercial? It's the one where the child is pretending to be a knight releasing his mom (who is a dragon) from the dungeon?

My twins auditioned for the role of the child. Obviously they didn't get the part. I thought John did a fabulous job. He didn't even get a call back.

Wait.......what's the point, you say?

The point is that the TWINS love the commercial. Everytime they see it, they run around the house saying the lines from the commercial (they had to memorize the lines for the audition). Amazingly enough, the script didn't change a bit from audition to production.

Oh, and did I tell you how cool the audition was? They paired each of the boys up with an actress and although I don't remember the names, I recognized just about every actress there from other commercials or shows. The actress that worked with Jacob was particularly great. I can't believe she didn't get the job.

I remember you talking about the audition! That's so funny that the twins still know the lines and love it so much!

Very cool! - makes me wish we received TV - we only have a monitor to watch movies. We haven't seen a commercial in 2 years! Guess I am really missing out on something! Thanks for sharing that cool experience.

Too bad we can´t see the commercial here. But it sounds cool that the twins know all the words. Too bad they didn´t get the part!

Did you ever mention that this was what they were auditioning for? Because I swear when I saw that commercial I thought of you. Hmmm!

Too bad they didn't get the gig.

I haven't seen that one yet, but I love this series. Brilliant ad writer!!

Would have been an even more brilliant casting agent if the twins had gotten the role.

They chose poorly.

It's so cute that they remember!

I saw this commercial last night, and you know? It totally stuck in my head---weird! WOW, I so wish your guys got the part.
and I thought the lemon tree was reason enough to move to your neighborhood--but auditions? famous people? I so want to live there.

If they still know the lines, then I think this acting thing is definitely a good fit for them! One day, I know we'll see a video on your blog of their national TV debut!

Even though the little guys didn';t get the part in the commercial, it sounds like they loved experiencing just the audition, and they must feel very cool knowing the lines to it and everything! Are you going to have them try to audition for other parts?

I am sorry they did not get the part, however I am thrilled to hear the commercial makes them happy and they still recall the lines.

Since I forward on tivo I rarely see commercials... Maybe I will make a point and try and see it.

What cuties your boys would have been in it. Mistake for them.

I think I have seen it. Well there will be a better role for your boys to play next time. That is so funny they still know the lines.

Have not seen it, but will have to look for it. How is the other commercial coming along?

One of these days we're going to see them in a commercial for real. But, it's awfully cute that they're having that reaction to the one they auditioned for! :)

I have not seen that commercial but I bet it would have been better with your kids in it.

I have not seen the commercial, but love this story. Too cute!

Makes me wonder what the criteria is that they are looking for? That commerical is REALLY funny!

Swirl Girl said...

how cool is that!

at leasty the kids want to go on auditions - and just think, maybe you'll be able to pay for college!

I saw it last night! The twins are way cuter than the boy who got it!

My kids used to love to get in front of a camera, too. And this shows how giving and accepting your twins are. They don't feel the envy or the competition with the kids who won the role. Pretty sweet!

can't say I've seen it - probably not likely to! Especially as Gerber products aren't sold here I think my chances are slim!! :)

I haven't seen it but I will be on the lookout for it!

I haven't seen this commercial yet, but I'll keep an eye out... and then I'll tell my husband that your boys would've been SO MUCH BETTER:)

That's crazy, I see that commercial 20 times a day.. no we don't watch too much TV around here...

Unknown said...

I just saw that commercial today. That's crazy. Can I admit it's a little annoying though? ; )

Grace said...

$60???? Say What!?! Pa-lease tell me where to go!!! Clint said he had fun playing with one of the twins while he was over...I think he understands why I love them so much! A double date would be so fun! We'll make it happen!

I think it's so neat that you are doing commercials with the boys.
I did it for a while with my son Alex, who was almost the Michellin Baby :)
(it was down to him and another baby )

Kristen Jensen said...

so when did you get bit by the entertainment bug for your boys? I remember the last entry I read about your experience at an audition was a bad one... but was that the job they got after all?
Anyways, they are ADORABLE and so perfect for commercials. Wish I was in L.A to audition too. :(
I am highly considering moving there this summer, even without Ryan and then coming back here in the fall...
