My Boys. Captured.

Every once in awhile I actually take a picture that I look at and think, "Here.  This picture totally captures his/her personality".

And when I do, it warms my heart.  Not because I think I got some spectacular shot, but because what I see in the photo reminds me of something that isn't tangible.

But then if I think about it for too long then I start to get sad because I know that the expression I happened to catch isn't always going to be there.....and then I want that time machine because......

I'm just plain not ready for my children to grow up.

Ohhhh!! I'm not ready either and they are both teenagers now...I wish they were your kids age now. It goes by too fast.

I feel the same way about capturing their true personalities. Sometimes it's not the "prettiest" shot that catches me eyes, but those pictures that show me who they really are.

Thanks for playing along today!

You really do get a sense of them for those shots:-)

I love the candid shots like these where you can see their little faces and YOU as their mom know exactly what's going on in their little heads!

I know they do grow too fast.. Great shots..

Oh no, don't get sad and don't think about them growing up. Because then I'll think about it and get sad. My son is 6!!!!! Can't believe it!!!!!!!! He's starting to get adult expressions.

But really, they are great shots and I love these more than any posed ones.

They are all cute but the look on his face in that middle picture is just priceless! Such cute boys!

And I hear you on the time thing, I posted something similar today! ; )

great shots! Yeah I throw most of mine away, but I get good ones by sheer numbers. The more you take the odds are in your favor.

Cheers and GB!

they are so cute. I love the twins faux hawk, and Garret always looks like he's such an angel.

I can just imagine their personalities from these photos! What beautiful faces!!!

Those are the best kinds of shots because those are the ones you are going to laugh the hardest at when you look back and them.

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I'll think to myself that I HAVE to be sure to photograph an expression before it goes away.

It is sad. :( Although some of those faces would be pretty funny looking on a 30 year old.

Just sayin. :)

I see exactly what you mean with those shots. They're terrific! But geez woman, they're still so little! Don't worry about them growing up just yet.

Justine :o )

This is so funny, but I have been feeling this way the past couple of days...I wish I would have read this before my post..I could have added it as yet another "hint" to me, to take advantage of every minute with my little ones. Great post!

I love this post-- the thought and the pictures!
They are such beautiful boys, and I think they look older in every set of pics I see (sorry to remind you!).
It's amazing how much a candid photo can capture-- they are always preferred to posed shots in my house-- even when the quality isn't as good or the person isn't looking their best, they just say so much more about our character.

I don't want my kids to grow up either :-(

I love those shots that capture their personality exactly.

I saw a old photo the other day of my middle daughter when she was 4. She was making the same expression she still does at 9. It made me smile.

Your boys are so cute! I don't want my kids to grow up either. Sometimes I wish I could just stop the clock, and let them stay at one age for a bit longer...so I can enjoy them more.

I am so right there with you. I am not the least bit ready. Your boys are so stinkin' cute.

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics on Tammie' Facebook page. They are too die for.

They are soooooo cute! I always wanted kids with red hair. Ever since having a red-headed cabbage patch doll. ;) But then I married an Asian. And adopted two children from Asia. But there's always hair dye right? ;)
