The Best Pumpkin Carving.......

...Is the pumpkin carving where my only role is as the photographer.

I admitted to being a Halloween Dead-Beat Mom last week.

I give you further proof in pictures and words:

I don't like carving pumpkins.  And never really have.

Good thing my husband doesn't mind because we had A LOT of pumpkins!

(Somehow I only got a photo of 3 of the 6 carved pumpkins.)

Don't worry...you are not alone. I do not like to carve them either...too messy in my opinion! Great carving, though, by your hubby!

I never carve our pumpkins-- it just seems like so much work! And, your boys are so cute. All of them!

I'm right up there with you on the dead beat halloween mom. I do not like Halloween at all! Some of our kids painted pumpkins instead of carving. The painting works better for the little ones.

Pumpkin carving is really a Daddy thing in our house too.

Carving duties are my department and I LOVE IT! I have been carving pumpkins since I was a kid, did them as an adult before I had kids.

I love that you referred to yourself as a deadbeat. :)

Happy PSF!

I love how Jeff finished by himself! lol And it still warms my heart to have been able to hang with you both, even briefly!

Oh, and I was a lame-o halloween mom too. By the time I got around to trying to find some pumpkins they were long gone!! lol

Lucky you! I'm the carver in the family and have my jack-o-lantern in my PSF as well!

As my pumpkin carving hatred and my lack of free time combined this year we all decided together (aka we coaxed the kids into believing) that instead of jack-o-lanterns this year they wanted a pumpkin patch. Meaning we stacked all of the uncarved pumpkins around our fake scarecrow and called it a day! I really need to throw them away already b/c every time we come in that door #2 asks me when we are gonna carve them. How about never, kiddo!

Pumpkin craving is a man's job....heehee sounds so 1950's. I alway hated doing it. Your pumpkins turned out very cool!

6 pumpkins...wow! That is a lot of carving. I'm totally not a carver either. I prefer to sit around and drink hot chocolate observing the work!

I don't like carving either. Way too nasty.

That looks like great fun!

Whew...I'm so glad I'm not alone. I turned it over to Dad this year and made my son (14) do his own (even the yucky stuff). I took the pictures and got the candles.

Uhhhh, we didn't even CARVE pumpkins this year. We painted some at the first of the month and then I used that as my excuse for not carving more later. I am SUCH a lame Halloween mom.

Your pumpkins turned out great!!

Pumpkins are smelly inside. I leave the cleaning to my wife, and I take the pictures. She's a good woman.

Gotta love it when dad is willing to do the dirty, er, slimy work!

Great job carving all of those pumpkins! My husband usually helps our daughters carve them :-)

Ick. I think carving pumpkins is a giant pain in the ass and just gross. But, hubby and the kids did a great job!

you know I haven't carved a pumpkin in EONS! I did it once and it was too messy, i just didn't have the heart to try again.

but Kudos to you! Looks great!

I dislike carving pumpkins. Such a mess and the gooey seeds inside just gross me out. I hope dear hubby takes on this role. This year we used Mr. Potato Head-ish things to make faces. LOL

I'm so confuse to decide which one is the best. they are all great!

OH honey, thank you for admitting that you don't like to carve the pumpkins!!!! I don't either and I always hated to admit it. I was lucky like you though and had a husband who DID - whew! Have a great weekend ~ ♥

Cute pumpkins!!! (meaning jack-o-lanterns and children). I know I have said this before, but your children are so beautiful!!! I can say that about the boys too because they are still young, love every picture I see of them.

I love it! I am also a pumpkin carving supervisor not carver. I hate it even though the kids love doing it and I love the final results.

I was reminded this year that carving pumpkins is much harder than I remember. Yet I love the end result.
