Photo Story Friday-Emma

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Emma prepared me for Garrett who prepared me for the twins. Jeff almost missed Emma's birth. The doctor did. We thought we were in for a long night after my epidural but Emma had other plans. In the time it took Jeff to run to the cafeteria for a candy bar and coke I went from 4cm to done as disco. My nurse refused to deliver her, so I'll always be grateful for the other nurse that stepped in and took charge.

I was sick before she was born and I passed whatever it was on to her. Not nice. I know. Her heartrate was accelerated for many hours so after I was stabilized she was induced. I'm glad that I didn't know then what I know now. I would have freaked out. When she was born she had a fever and had to be taken to the nursery for a few days of antibiotics before coming home.

From day one Emma has been a good sleeper. An exceptional sleeper, actually. She's always been so pleasant and sweet to be around. She is always willing to help me when I need her, and for that I'm so thankful. I love Emma's personality. So unassuming and good natured, if a bit timid. My number two is spectacular. I'm so lucky. And she's going to be in First Grade. Where did the time go?

She's such a cutie! Love your photo story Fridays. It's fun learning more things about your cute kiddos.
I can't get over the nurse who wouldn't deliver her though. She did know that she works at a hospital right? Thank goodness for the backup nurse. I would have flipped out on nurse #1.
okay I so should be in bed. Later!

Thank heavens for sweet good natured kids! I think of mine as my "consolation prize" for the other two who are high maintenance.

First grade is so huge. It's "real" school in my mind, and I know how you feel about watching them grow.

The picture is so lovely with her dress that matches the flowers!

Happy 4th!

Is Emma the oldest? Gosh...they're young!

I'm tryin' hard to crawl out of my work induced hole.

I've gotten two 'writing' gigs lately on top of it all.

I'd like you to join one of the places...

That is an adorable picture of Emma.I love how her shirt/dress matches the flowers so well. She so cute and has a great smile.

Love the birth story too. My second child arrived fast as well, hubby was in hospital room shower, doctor hadn't arrived, and the nurse had to deliver. A bevy of nurses actually.

I like the term done as a disco. lol

I loved this story. You once told me our pregnancy situations had been similar and you weren't kidding, except I did have the c-section.

Having met Emma I can attest to how sweet she is. I just loved her. She was as nice as you wrote. Can you save her for my Jacob? Ha ha remember how they would not even stand next to each other for a picture?

Beautiful picture of her too!

She is such a doll. My boy was a great sleeper.. I will always be grateful for him letting me love new mommyhood so much since my pregnancy was so hard.

I say it everytime, but these tributes to your kids are priceless and really inspiring.

The nurse refused to deliver her? What did she want you to do, close your legs and wait? Gimme a break!!

She's beautiful...and seriously, don't blink....she'll grow up before you know it;)
