Guitar Hero-Aerosmith

I've been won over to Wii gaming. At least when it involves Guitar Hero. Jeff and I have wasted many a good daylight hour playing Co-op together, and I have to admit that I've become a pretty good bass player on Medium. So, even though I am not an Aerosmith fan, I was excited when Jeff brought home Guitar Hero Aerosmith edition today. Until we started playing. First of all when it came time to pick characters, instead of Aerosmith band members, it was the same generic characters from Guitar Hero III. Didn't make sense to me. I've heard though that after opening a few songs played individually that changes. After we had played a few Co-op songs we realized that on Aerosmith edition Co-op gigs don't pay. So, if I want to buy more songs, I'm out of luck. Also, the first songs that have to be played to open more songs are totally obscure, obnoxious collections of noise. I couldn't get past how much I disliked the songs in order to try to find the rhythm. For a game that features Aerosmith, there are not very many popular hits available. So, unless you are a HUGE Aerosmith fan, I'd skip this one. Mine just might end up on Craigslist tomorrow. I really just want Wii Fit. Sigh.

You should see what my friend, Cami, has to say in her review of the WiiFit on her blog.

Sorry your virtual career isn't working out. My heart bleeds for you. ;)

Big D and I played Wii this weekend too, at his mom's, and decided with his next bonus we are getting one! It is so much fun. I haven't tried guitar hero yet but I want to. And the wii-fit looks great too!

I am so bummed to hear that. My husband and I have been waiting for it to come out. That is really disappointing. I love Wii Fit! That one won't let you down!

I'm getting Wii Fit as soon as Kmart gets one in! That is what I "got" for my birthday..... only problem there aren't many available round here or in a 3 hr drive radius! Yeah ya can get one on line but they want double the cost! I can't wait though, I think I might enjoy getting fit if it is a game! :)

I'm tryin' to feel for ya. No Wii around here yet...no guitar or fit, not happenin' for us!

And since I hate Aerosmith...good to know for the future!

My boys spent their own money to buy this version (and it helped that our original version that they got for Christmas has gone missing...). They LOVE it. And so does hubby. I've only played a little.

Wii Fit looks interesting but it's never in stock!

I'll have to tell my son. He's only 11 and he's almost finished every song on hard from Guitar Hero III. He can play about 50% of them on Expert too. I've watched and my brain can't even comprehend what I'm seeing. And I was the kind of guy that could score a million points on Pac Man so its not like I'm game dysfunctional. Now if I could just get a Wii console. I refuse to do anything special to get one. They should be available. On the shelves. Until that time...forget it. I figure 2014...

Good to know. It always great to let others know when something just doesn't live up to what it should.

You video junkies, what do you expect? JK. I have no clue what any of this post was about. We are Wii-less at our house :(

good to know about this one! We were thinking about getting it. I really do have a wii fit post coming! I promise! It has been in drafts forever and is nearly ready to come out!

Glad to hear your opinion. Though I have liked GH III for adults, I still have mixed feelings about it for the kids and tweens to be around. My motto is "Stay in practice mode." Then the little spectators aren't exposed to all the tattoed scantily dressed people...save the concerts until after bedtime. I think we'll be skipping Aerosmith.

We love GH! But I will never buy this version because I KNOW I WILL LOVE IT! And then child services will be called in for child negligence! Glad you are having fun! I like playing co-op too and playing bass! :)

I have been disappointed with all of the guitar and rock band songs. Glad I haven't bought this one yet! I was at Toy R Us and the last Wii fit sold right in front of me. Bummer!!

I absolutely stink at Guitar hero (we have it for the XBox) Wii fit is on my daughter's wish list.

That's too bad because it sounded like it'd be cool.

Good to know, because the Hubby has been eyeing this... As for wii fit, give away everything else because nothing will matter when it comes into your house. It's very sad actually. Our kids are sitting at the curb ;-)
Oh, I came over from PSF at MamaGeek's
