Home Improvement Installment #1

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are SO close to being done with all of the home improvements we have been working on for the past 2 years. Here's installment #1. Before and after.

This is the kitchen while we were in the process of replacing all of the appliances with Stainless Steel ones.

Here's the kichen now, with crown molding, matching appliances, a new faucet, new window trim, and new cabinet doors, drawers and hardware. Notice that now I have some cupboards with glass fronts? Love em.

We painted the room this color when we moved in, and although I love the color, it was a poor choice for this room beccause it made the room way too dark.

A lighter color on the walls, new trim and crown molding really made this room lighter and brighter.

This cool color (which we put up) stuck out like a sore thumb with the warm colors on all the other walls.

The wall color looks burgandy in this picture, but it's really a paprika color. It looks really warm and rich, and I love how the crown and trim makes the room look like it has more depth.

Your house is looking stunning! I am very impressed with the many improvements in these posts. They are all just my style and I know represent hours of work and money too! It just breaks my heart that you will leave it all behind. I really think the house is going to show so well though! Not to mention all the skills and ideas you will bring along to the next adventure.

Really beautiful improvements Angie! It really is hard work to do all of that without hiring someone. So are you really putting your house up for sale?

It looks so great Angie! Jeff did an amazing job. It is so awesome to have a handy hubby. What a blessing :) You r decorating skills are just as spectacular. I am also wondering how you keep things so organized and beautiful with 5 kids. I only have 2 and my house is chaos. :)

Wow! you painted some rooms TWICE? and I complain about my measly 2 rooms in the last, oh, 8 years! It all looks fabulous! Love the kitchen cabinets, moldings and paint colors. Too bad you'll be moving someday. After all that work, I'd never leave.

I love everything you've done with the house, you have a great eye!

I'm glad to hear you're almost finished. We did a major renovation two years ago and I'm still not quite recovered (and of course by now things are starting to need redoing again. Sigh...)

Wow, those are some beautiful renovations! We are in the middle of renovating an old foreclosure now and boy lemme tell you, you just convinced me that crown molding is the way to go. My husband wanted it, I was ehh...not anymore! It's lovely! ANd the color choices are great, especially that "paprika". It really warms the room as you said. We have a cranberryish color in our living room and it is cozy. (It actually used to be our dining room, but we switched the two so the dining room is now beige with darker furniture!)

And you have 5 kids, which makes it even more amazing! Heard you are selling, good luck with it!
