This is a hard one. But, I'm going to have to go with Villette by Charlotte Bronte. Why? Because. Part of it has to do with the ending though. Read it and tell me what you think. I'd really love to know why I've never met anyone that loves it like I do, and I'd enjoy discussing the novel with someone who cares. To see what books others enjoy, link back to Aloha Friday on

Aloha! I haven't read that book yet. I'm sure it's very interesting.
Have a great 2008!
I haven't read that so thanks for the tip!!
You know, that book has been sitting on my bookshelf for a long time and I have yet to read it. I'll have to add that to my "Books to read in 2008" list. :-)
i haven't read it either, and i'm reserving judgment pending an in depth perusal.
Hmm, looks like I have another one to add to my library list. I'll let you know what I think of it after I read it.
I just started reading it per your recommendation. I have a lot of all time favs. Jane Eyre is one of them and since its most recent I will pick that one. I love so many!
Always in search of a great book! I am going to try and start reading everyday. My brain needs a good jump start! I'll pick this one up!
I got this book for Christmas and am really looking forward to starting it. Needless to save I have I hopes of it becoming a favorite :)
I'll have to read it.. in my spare time. Hey I finished Anita Stansfelds' new series. LMK if you want me to mail it to you so you can read it then you can just mail them back. They are AWESOME!
BTW... i tagged you on my blog!
Oh, Angie, you read smart girl books!
Right now the kids and I are reading a book called A Barrel of Laughter A Veil of Tears and I am completely and totally enjoying it and it's grade school reading level. Given my current mental state, Bronte just might fry what little brain I have left.
I think Villette is on my sister in law's favorites list though, so maybe I should have her e-mail you so you can discuss...:)
Thanks for the recommendation - it's always nice to hear what books other people love. Have a great weekend. Kellan
So... you've been tagged. Read my blog. :D
I'm with Cecily...you do read smart girl books.
I liked it--I'm okay with any of the Brontes--but thought the ending a little overly dramatic. Though typically I love sad endings (if I'm remembering things correctly, I read it several years ago).
I have not read Villette, but will put it on my very long list. I have a couple of books going right now, one of them is Wuthering Heights, which I have never read either. I'll have to give you a book report when I get to it!
