Master's degree

How cool is this?
A 94 year old woman earned her Master's Degree. I think an education is so important, whether or not you do anything with it in the work place. My twins will start kindergarten in about 5 years, making me about 37. I'll give myself 8 years (which is VERY liberal since I only have about a year of course work to earn one) to achieve my goal. So, by the time I'm 45 I want to have a Master's degree in Anthropology for no other reason than because I WANT one. Anyone else have a long term goal they want to achieve just because?

that is really neat. neither my hubby or i went to college (not something i'm proud of). i hope to one day go back to school, but we'll see what happens. anyway, very cool!

Go ahead Granny! That will be me trying to finish up my schooling that I will still be paying for! Anthropologie sounds like it would be really interesting. If I weren't a Mother, I think it would be really fun to be a professional student. Really:)

You are like the smartest girl I know. Seriously. I'll brag about you when you get that degree. Me? I'd love to get a graphic design degree so that my scrapbooking would actually start looking spectacular!

You go girl! I have my master's already and sometimes think about going further to get a PhD, but I don't know. We'll see.

Heather,
Puuuleese! Your scrapbooking already looks spectacular, but I think a graphic design degree would be really cool......nurse by night, mommy and artist extradinare by day.

I always wanted to be a linguist. Weird huh? Probably stems from wanting to speak Japanese my whole life. Don't know if I have the 'gumption' to actually do it though. I tend to be pretty lazy...

I'm proud of you -- go for your dream!

I really want to write a book before I die...that's my goal.

FYI, my sis-in-law is a world-renound Anthropologist (Google, "Jill Pruetz" and see what comes up. National Geographic is with her in Senegal right now, shooting for her upcoming episode!). If you ever need good advice in the Anthropolgy arena, just say so!

I've been trying to finish my MS in Nutrition for what seems like forever. One day I'll finish. I love anthropology. I took an anthropology class in college and did a project on the !Kung. It was totally cool. I'd also like to learn Greek fluently and learn Ancient Greek. My modern Greek is ok, but not good enough to keep up with a conversation between two native speakers!

Angie I think this is a really cool post. I too would love to get a degree even if it is just an associate's just to say that I did it! Maybe someday...

Keep chipping away at it- online courses, whatever! It has been hectic and fulfilling for me. Someday I will go back to it full time.

Heck yeah, go for it! I never want to stop learning, I plan to go back to school in a year. Just start slowly and work my way through school one class at a time. It will take forever and I will always stop when my family grows a little more, but I want to to have an education. I think your goal is great!
