My life would be so different without books.
Honestly, I can't remember a time that books didn't satisfy my soul in some way.
I *HEART* books. With a passion. And sincerely THANK their authors.
I just picked up a "load" of books from the library that have been highly recommended by my friends, which makes this girl, VERY happy.
The book that got me most excited, though? The one on top. With the black cover. That's that one that I've already read cover to cover and some parts twice. THE HUNGER GAMES. Lula at Lulaville recommended it to me MONTHS ago and I just got my hands on it. Speaking of Lula, she has incredible taste in every thing. Notably books. I'm just saying.
Here's what else is going to keep me occupied for the next few weeks:
Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale
The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant
River Secrets by Shannon Hale
The Lady and the Unicoren by Tracy Chevalier
Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier
Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier
Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson
The Space Between us by Thrity Umrigar
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
If you know of a book that I MUST read, Please, Please list it in the comment section.

Love the post. I love reading. I've sucked at it since starting school, but I looooove it. I used to read at least 5 books a month. I've got some awesome recommendations.
I can't list them all... but
Amazing Grace by Danielle Steel
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson
The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
All three are awesome. I'm thinking of starting my own book review page soon... lol We'll see!
Love James Patterson... I have read them all. If you never have, check out East of Eden. I can read over and over again.
Anything by Wally Lamb. Amazing!
I feel the same way about books.
WOW!!
I love to read but just like this computer it tends to take over...when I find a great book, I cant put it down-at all!!
So I go back and forth...either iM reading all the time or not at all!
As Peter says, around our house there is a book in each room of the house that I am currently reading. I go mad if I can't read something...a book or magazine.
I have to read a little bit...at least a magazine or newspaper!
Check out my giveaway when you get a chance!

I love to read as well...my favorite pastime!
I too LOVE LOVE books.
I haven't read any of the ones you listed though..
I love books. When I was a kid, my mom worked at the local library. I would spend my summers sitting in the stacks reading all day long. It was heaven. Even now, I enjoy going to the library. It was my favorite building on campus when I was college.
As far as recommendations, I second the Wally Lamb. I've read 2 books by him & loved them both.
Anything by Jodi Picoult. I've yet to figure out what genre she fits in. She's fictional, but that's about as far as I can get. The Pact or 19 Minutes were probably my favorite.
And a classic to reread as many times as you can... To Kill a Mockingbird or Charlotte's Web. Both favorites that I'm sure you've read.
I love to read too. I loved the Hunger Games, as you know. We are reading Scarlett Pimpernel and Unwind next month. Both come recommended.
there are just so many books and so little time. *sigh*
♥ I "NEED" a good book to read. I'm feeling deprived! I guess I'm going to finally have to go get my library card here! :)
Oh, I just love to read!! It is a break from reality!!
I love jodi Picoult, and james patterson too. I too like anything that I can get my hands on. I finally read Graceling...
Well, out of your stack... first read Snow Flower & The Secret Fan. I posted a review of it on my blog and absolutely loved it! The author, Lisa See, is wonderful!
And, if you're not a reader of my blog (shame on you... JUST KIDDIN'), then I'd say for this year's favorites I'd go with Life of Pi, The Makedown, and Sarah's Key. I read some great books in January!
Best,
Sheri
A Novel Menagerie
Girl - I just want to know your secret - where do you FIND the time to read with 5 kids????????
Oh I LOVED Snow Flower and the Secret Fan!
Loved the Hunger games as well! The next in the series comes out in Sept. Casing Fire is what it is called.
Shannon Hale books are yummy!
You need to read the Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins.
Sounds like you are going to be busy. Let me know how you liked these books, I always like a good read.
It took me 2 months to read one novel! I dont know how everyone finds the time. I do have one I am excited to start though.....
yay for authors. books make my world go round!
ok, i don't do novels so much...sorry, but i love "having a mary heart in a martha world"...good stuff.
I have read most of those and they are fabulous!
Holy cow! Are you going to be able to read all of those books before they are due?
I love to read as well. Love the smell of the books and the way they feel.
Do you enjoy historical fiction? If so I highly recommend Tom Follett's The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.
Great reads!
Oh, you are a lucky girl!!
One to cross off your list - "Revolutionary Road."
I decided to read it, instead of seeing the movie.
Hmmm. Not so much.
Enjoy!!
Be prepared to cry when you read "Sunday..." by Patterson. I loved it.
Just finished "The Girl Who Could Fly," by Victoria Forester, and adored it. Immediately said to myself, "Angie must read this, too." And you must.
p.s. Girl...please...you have MUCH better taste than me. I've seen your jeans. Just sayin'. And who told me about Graceling? I rest my case.
just finished the hunger games too! Lula got me on it and i love LOVED it! that girl's influence is huge! listen to her, ya'll!
I love reading and sadly it's one thing that has disappeared from my life after having kids :( I must work at getting back into it.
I read Snow Flower several months ago. Definitely interesting. I look forward hearing your thoughts.
You're going to read all that in 2 weeks? Man, I thought I was fast...
I laughed to myself when I saw how many books you've checked out all at once! I WISH I was that quick of a reader! I'm such a turtle, but I've fallen in love with reading this past year. I'm going to check out Hunger Games when I get a chance!
Just a few suggestions: Peony in Love by Lisa See, Get Out of the Pit by Beth Moore, The Travelers Gift by Andy Andrew(quick read, well worth it)
I tagged you in a post on my blog today also! So pleasae stop by when you have a chance!
I enjoy books, but don't read often. I cheat and get the audio cds or mp3s. That way, I can listen while I drive, cook, clean, etc.
GREAT LIST.
But you really expect us to believe that with as many kids as you have, and as tiny as you are, that you have ANY time to read outside of treadmilling?
;-)
I have to agree with your book on top!! I am in the process of reading it right now, and should finish it tonight! (if all goes well with the kiddos:)
I've heard nothing but raves about "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan." It is on my must read list too.
And I would recommend "I Love You, Beth Cooper" by Larry Doyle for a funny, light coming-of-age story that kind of pays tribute to and transcends every teen coming of age movie every made. Totally hilarious. Written by a write for the Simpsons. 'Nuff said!
I "read" 95% of my books on my iPod. I don't have time to sit down. How in the world do you find the time???
I loved Snow Flower, but haven't read the rest of your list. I'll put some on my library list now!
Pillars of the Earth was one of my recent reads (and just finished Franklin and Winston yesterday).
I may not be as good as Lula (she got me into Twilight and Hunger Games) but I highly recommend For My Daughters by Barbara Delinsky. I bought it for my mom for her 70th bday, she loved it, and then she told me to read it. I loved it.
You know I share your love of books and LOVED Hunger Games. I can't believe you check out that many books at one time? I'm a one book at a time kind of girl!
My all time favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Have you read it???
I could use some good books today. I'm home with a sick toddler. You'll have to let us know your favorites. I love to read, but don't have as much time as I used to.
You are going to be one busy girl!
I get lots of time to read now while nursing baby! I need to pick up something more light-hearted... I seem to gravitate toward parenting and self-help books. Sheesh!
Did you ever read "Memoirs of a Geisha"? That dude writes so descriptively, I was captivated.
