Pioneer Woman, I'm not

We go visit the horses every time we visit my grandparents.

I'm not even clear whether my grandfather owns the horses, to be honest.  I'm assuming he does since he saddles them up and lets us ride them.  And feeds them.  But, you never know.   {Kidding.  I'm kidding.}

This trip  I decided to take some pictures and wow both myself and my readers the way Ree, the Pioneer Woman does.  I mean, she takes incredible pictures of horses like every single day.  And, no matter how many horse photos I've seen of hers, they captivate me every time.

I'm not even a horse person.

So, when I had the opportunity, I clicked away.  I edited away.  Sort of.  And this is all I have to show for it.

Sadly, I came to a realization.  A Pioneer Woman, I'm not.  :)

I do have some great memories though, and a few good reminders that open fields, domesticated animals and children enjoying the wonder of them with their great grandpa makes me happy.

I love taking pictures of the horses out in the country where we live. Some times they all look the same but I love photographing them. Great shots!

She's really incredible, isn't she? What an eye, both for the composition and for the processing. I love seeing how Ree takes a photo and brings it from mundane to breathtaking.

How lucky your kids are to have the chance for an experience like this, and even better that it's family too.

So maybe you're not PW, but I like you just the way you are! The horses are gorgeous, and the setting looks wonderful! Cold, maybe, but wonderful!

I so wish I could have seen you and your cute family while you were down. Looks so fun! Your kids will have some great memories, and I do think you are so fun to read and maybe you don't have the best photo's of the horses you have the perfect photos of your kids. They are so beautiful and look like they are having so much fun!

Love the equine photos. Being a horse person myself, I'm not pioneer women so you can do both.

Beautiful horses, but I like them only in pictures.

My dad has a farm house in Wisconsin. Kids really find animals and farms magical and I find their reaction magical. As for me? I am all about clean, nice smelling places. Just being honest:) Great photos!

It's okay, you don't need to impress me with pictures of horses! Haha! I think you got some great photos, and you'll be happy to have them in the future when you're looking back fondly on those visits. :)

No you're not PW and I am glad. Your pics are awesome. Plus, doesn't she have like a whole team of contributors behind her website?

Hey looks like fun man. When we had horses to play with my kids LOVED them.
It's so cool that you get to have these to see every time you go you know.
I always wanted a horse when I was a kid.

Oh how fun!! Your pictures still scared my hubby, though, since he's afraid of horses. Princess Nagger loved them too! :)

Such awesome memories for the kids for sure!

This looks great! I want to visit, too!
And, as a new mommy, the thing I'm coming to learn (and love) the most about wide open spaces? Fresh air makes kiddos tired!! WOOHOO!

What a great trip. We used to have vacations like that with my husband's aunt and uncle. They are both gone now, but we have great memories and pictures of those trips that we will cherish forever.

OK, whether you are pioneer or not --your family is truly captivating-and so beautiful. I love to see what you guys are up to--there's always something!!
Oh, and I can't look at a lemon without thinking of your backyard tree--did I ever tell you that?
