You inspired 2 of my children to become authors and illustrators.
Plus, you've entertained us for hours.
I'm thinking that my kids are on to something here. If you'd just pass this on to your publisher, they'd be forever in your debt.

Now, when you review the book, please remember:
Correct spelling is dispensable when one can spell phonetically. That's a fact.
Depicting picking one's nose and showing one's mouth full of food is not easy.
When acrylics are not allowed in the house, pencil is a perfectly acceptable medium.

Let me know what your publisher thinks. :)
And, if it helps to sweeten the deal, I'm giving one of your books a really great review on Thursday.

The picking of one's nose and showing one's mouth full of food... I swear that is a pic of my four-year-old.
The mouthfull of food looks like my Sara!! A bright future ahead indeed...
Pure Brilliance.
Better than the original David books, I tell you.
So cute. My kids LOVE the NO David books too!
how cute!!!
How cute is that!!!
Kid art and kid stories are THE BEST---that they ended up combined here is just too perfect :)!
Adorable! I love pics drawn by kids.
I would so buy that book!!! Will they autograph my copy?
Adorable!
We were big fans of David Gets In Trouble here at my house.
My girls love the "No David" series. I have to admit that I do too! Great choice for a tribute!
That is so super cute! Love it! :)
LOL..omg my Jim used to draw all about No David..I got him that book when he was six or seven and he still loves it..he's 13 now
So adorable-I love it!!

I'm definitely going to need to check out that book. I love what your kids did! It's so cute to see the way they spell things at that age. Love it. :)
super adorable !!
So glad about WW - last week I stayed up until 1 AM waiting to post and then realized the time zone! argh!!
This is awesome Angie. I love it.
that is absolutely hysterical! i love it! great illustration too
Those are just wonderfully done. A great tribute choice.
I think their very talented Mom inspired them...
LMAO Angie that is awesome...I have got to do that with my daughter soon...although she will only want to do a book about Arthur and stinky bunners. But maybe there's a market for that.
Awesome post!!
Jay
Brilliance!! Pure brilliance. I see big things in the future of your children. How cool will these be to have when they grow up and publish the next great American novel someday??
I'd totally buy a copy of that!
Love it! Isn't David Shannon the best? Your kids' stuff isn't half bad either.
Now that is a book I'd like to read ;)
Of course I'm concerned about the lack of colors in the drawings. This could be a sign that they aren't fulfilled...
I love playing 'dumb psychiatrist'... it's a fun game.
Cute idea! Wonderful drawings!
Thanks for visiting my blog, too!
I really love that book, NO David. That author really "gets" what kids go through with us. LOL. :)
I love it! This is such a great post, and it reminded me of a little note my eldest left on my desk for me to find (of course he helpfully pointed out he had left it there for me). I'm going to post it for wordful wednesday. I hope Mr. Linky works for me then, I haven't seen any linkies since sunday. :-(
That is so great! LOL
I think your kids on are to something too!
what a beautiful thing to pay tribute too. I love all the drawing of your kids.
Love that book, and love that Carrots are seen in the mouthful of food. Too funny!
Very cute!
very cute book your kiddlets wrote and illustrated! Funny post!
You have two budding authors/illustrators on your hands, momma!!
so funny! how sweet.
who cares about spelling... that's what they have editors for!
i am not sure what this says about me, but i didn't need your interpretation of the illustrations at the end.... i could totally see nose picking and open mouth chewing!
this was really cute! you must be so proud!
Okay, I need to stay awake until midnight and then come up with a brilliant idea for WW. Or just an idea. ;)
I love WWs!
Oh, train of thought all over the map here, my kids were given acrylics at an insanely young age but not finger paints (I know, no logic there).
OMG! WE have and love a few of the NO David books!!!!! Your children are genuises!!!!! :)
That is absolutely classic. I love the things kids come up with!
How wonderful!!!!
that is so cute. I wish you luck on the publishing .
Hey Angie,
Stop by my blog there is a few awards there for ya!
Tim
I just love the nose picker!
This is so great!!
I love how they spell phonetically at this point.
Oldest came home the other day with his list of "rezalooshuns."
Makes sense to me.
Those are some great book review rules...
That is fantastic!!
That is awesome...what smart kids. And I just noticed how long your blog list is...how do you keep up???
Oh this was too cute! Loved it! My son is actually AFRAID of David Shannon's books because of the kid's sharp teeth! He finds them really scary looking. Your kids just captured them ... I knew even before I read who inspired it what they were inspired by! Cool!
