What I'm wearing....

For my Twisted Silver giveaway, go here.

Photobucket
I *HEART* fashion. I even thought I had some fashion sense until my husband derailed me a few weeks ago. See, I bought two jackets that I adored (I need lighter weight jackets here than I did in Oregon). And I mean adored. I thought they were so cute. He, um. Didn't.

He has really great fashion sense, so I can't decide if our tastes just defer on this one, or if I'm losing it.

If I am losing it, then who knows how many steps I am away from a fashion disaster?

So, at a time when I am questioning whether I'm turning into a fashion wasteland, "It's What I'm Wearing" was born. The author of Tiaras and Tantrums is the hostess; she's participated in my Wordful Wednesdays since its inception, and in the early days when I didn't know if the whole idea would flop, I knew I could count on her.

Lucky for me, I can play along with her today as she's participated with me, AND ask your opinion.

Am I a few short steps shy of embarrassing?

I present to you what I wore yesterday. This is pretty typical of what I wear when I have a bunch of errands to run. Comfort is really important to me.

Pictured above is one of the jackets in question (which I'm now starting to think really is a not), one of my favorite black layering T-Shirts (Layers Clothing), one of my favorite pairs of jeans (Citizen's of Humanity, Kelly cut), and brown suede flats (Franco Sarto).

Please be gentle if you need to break some bad news to me. I'm fragile. :)

And, be sure to head over to Tiaras and Tantrums to see what others are wearing.

Where did your arms go :)?!

I'd give it a thumbs up....but probably because I have a VERY similar jacket in dark gray.

I'm sure your husband will grow to like the jacket once he begins to associate your face with it :).

I think the outfit is adorable. But I think you suck for having a figure like that after as many children as you popped out. WT?

I know, Scary Mommy! She's all cute and thin... she could wear a gunny sack and look awesome.

Jacket is cute. Pants are great. How you have that flat stomach is beyond me!

I want to look like you in my next life!

you look great

funny how us women can't just look at the clothes, but the body in it. It's hard for me to comment, I have little fashion sense & am hoping that as my 5 daughters get older -they will 'save' me!
You do look great, & I'll try not to be jealous of your figure since I wasn't that skinny since 4th grade!!

Hey I personally LOVE those jeans because I have the EXACT same pair!

The jacket, not so much. But then again, I'd have to see the entire picture.

I always feel deflated after I buy something I think is really cute, and then Peter doesn't like it.

I think you look great! I also give it a two thumbs up!

I love the look. Very similar to what I wear to go do errands etc. What do husbands know?

Shala said...

I think that you look great, I love the jeans and flats. From what I can tell the jacket is cute!

Being a man, I'm no fashion expert either— but here's my opinion.

I like Swing Jackets— they're always cute. I cannot tell if the length is right or not. It would be better if we could see more of the jacket.

Looks pretty darn cute to me. I'm usually in jeans and a zip up sweatshirt on my errand days.

I would like to see the whole ensemble to get the full effect. But working with the photo you have - it looks fine to me.

I'm just me... said...

Cute, cute, cute! Love it!

I adore that jacket (good color for a red head) I want to buy a couple of those jackets as well - but to wear this and then put on a big winter jacket - aww to live in sun!!
Can I just say - YOU are super skinny girl!!(in a good way).
Really hubbie doesn't like that? It is super adorable!!

Kelly said...

I like the jacket. (especially with the black shoes and shirt) May even go good with brown.
Maybe hubby is the one whose fashion is faultering. Or he is like my husband and tires of seeing us in the same color or the same style of clothing all the time. I was guilty of that. Still am a little, but I am trying to come out of my shell with more color and more styles.

Didn't get the jacket in the first photo but got it in the second. I think it is lovely and flattering! You look much better than I do. I wouldn't even want to show what I wear on a regular basis. I'll have to check this blog out ... sounds like it could be fun!

Look at your waist! I really need to lay off the pecan pie!

As far as the jacket, since I have one VERY similar to it I think you are right on the fashion train! :-)

personally? i love the jacket!

You're super cute. I will not be participating because my style is Frumpy Mom.. which is actually anti-style.

Kacey said...

I'm loving this! Too cute! And I'm really not saying it. These cropped jackets are hard for some to pull off but you do it well. I LOVE your jeans too!

Melissa said...

I think what you're wearing looks great.
I can't believe that's your comfort outfit.
You don't even wanna know what I wear.

The jacket is cute! I have the same problem with Steve...I think we know better! :)

Jen said...

I think that you look super cute and your hubby doesn't know what he is talking about. I would totally wear something like that if I didn't have to bundle up here in all the snow.

Jaysi said...

I think you look adorable. What could possibly be wrong with that little ensemble? The coat is adorable, and perfect for us gals who don't need heavy coats!! I think it is a keeper!

Mrs Anne said...

I think you, the coat, the jeans and the shoes are adorable!

Who wouldn't love it??

That's crazytalk!

Rhonda said...

I think it's unkind of you to announce in your side bar that you have five children and then show us how friggin phenomenal you look. You need to post a "How I do it" blog, I think. lol

I think you look awesome! But I've blocked your blog from my husband so he will never see you. lol

Michelle said...

You stylish girl! Being tall I always have the hardest time finding jackets that fit well. They never hit where they are supposed to hit. You however look awesome my tall friend.

Amy McMean said...

you look smokin!

Oh, and wow do you look fantastic! You've got a great little figure there!

I adore the jacket. It's fun and cute. I could see that working with a lot of different outfits too, very versatile.

I'm confused with the first picture but I think the jacket from #2 is cute! I'd wear it.

I think it is sooo cute! But i have jackets like that too!! :)

My opinion....it's a keeper!! You are sporting it well. I love it.

S Club Mama said...

I think the coat & the outfit are really cute. Better than the sweats & t-shirt with sweatshirt as I'm accustomed to wearing.

But I do have to agree with Scary Mommy - how do you have that figure?? I didn't have that before I had a kid.

Susie said...

I think you look great!!

Stephanie said...

You look awesome. Cute jacket...LOVE the jeans and shoes. I would be humiliated to show what I'm wearing! I don't look that good when going on errands!!!

SouthernBelle said...

Here is my two cents:

I am tiny on top and slightly bigger on the bottom, so anything swingy or baby doll makes me look awful & boxy.

Looks like you don't have that problem, but this jacket shape minimizes the chest area and maximizes the waist, so that might be why your husband is not a fan of the jacket, because he's a fan of your figure!

Kristin said...

You take fashion advice from your husband? I am cracking up just picturing me doing that... Chris is... um... well, lets just say, I have to Garanimalize his wardrobe, or ends up in Black and Navy...

Laura said...

I love the jacket. In fact I have one almost exactly the same. ADORABLE! Totally in style too.

Live.Love.Eat said...

I think you look really awesome! Those jackets don't look good on me but they sure work on you.

Are You Serious! said...

♥ I like it! If I could wear it I would!!! :)

Lorie said...

Very cute...but it is short sleeve...not sure I would call it a jacket! So that means you should keep both! ;D

Kristen Jensen said...

Jackets like that are totally "in" right now and I think it's darling. However, I can TOTALLY relate to your situation with Jeff being fashion savvy and wondering if you're losing it. Ryan has better taste than a lot of girls I know, but when I started buying and wearing the dresses with skinny jeans and boots he HATED it. I felt sexy until I walked in the door and he told me I looked pregnant. I almost didn't want to wear them anymore but I get so many compliments from other people that I just try to ignore what he says. It's hard when your husband doesn't like something because overall you want him to make you feel sexy.

Your outfit is stunning. I love your style.

Kally said...

Cute jacket! Maybe your husband was having an off day fashion-wise and couldn't recognize your stylish ways :)

i am fashion challenged but I like it. Looks better than anything I could put together.

Well, I for one don't think you're nuts. I would certainly wear that jacket if I were um, TALLER, and um, LEANER. But I'm not, therefore that adorable jacket would look um, AWEFUL on me. But I like it, on YOU. :-)

I'm sooo jealous! You look AMAZING woman!! I got back down to a size 6 after the first four but....uh my cancer treatments and last baby kinda, sorta made me blow up like a balloon. 2 1/2 more years of meds and I'm gonna look JUST LIKE YOU!! LOL

I think it's very cute. And I find myself in the heart of fashion every day. Not that I always follow it or can afford it :) But I know what is stylish...LOL...and you are very stylish.

I have a very similar jacket in yellow. I also have black franco sarto flats and MANY pairs of Citizens :) So if you are not stylish then neither am I and that is unexceptable to me :)

How can I consider being 'friends' with someone who looks that hot, with that many kids ;)

Shannon said...

I think you look fab. The jacket is very cute and you are, in general, looking great. You and Jeff must just have differing taste where this style is concerned. You are definitely NOT losing it!

Brooke said...

I think you look great! You have way more fashion sense than I will ever hope to have.

Debra said...

That is totally in fashion.

UYour figure amazes me to no end. And all this without exercising. I practically had to kill myself to lose 30 lbs this entire year and I gained 5 back at my moms!
