So what do you eat for lunch?

Making lunch for myself is one of the banes of my existence. I hate making meals 3 times a day, and I don't like to eat what my kids do for lunch. That's their "free" meal, meaning I let them eat things like macaroni and cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So, most of the time I just pick at whatever is around and junk, and never sit down to eat. So here's my question to all of you that eat lunch at home. Do you make time for a real meal? Do you make an effort to eat good healthy foods? I'm trying to do better......today I still stood up to eat, but I ate a bowl of endaname and a vegetable patty. Hope that's a step in the right direction!

Lately I've been going to Whole Foods and making three salads from the salad bar minus the dressing. That way I have a salad prepared every day for three days. I just add vinegar and oil when i'm ready to eat them.

Lunch? Huh? What's that? Does Coke count? That's about my daily fare. Good luck with that eating healthy thing, if I didn't have kids, I'd eat nothing good for me...

I am very careful to eat my meals, otherwise I snack and eat bad and feel full. In my weight loss books I read that sitting to eat your meals is important, also putting portions out on plates. So for breakfast I eat cereal (lowfat), lunch I do a salad (chicken, broccoli, cottage cheese, carrots) healthy and good, I also do sandwiches. I usually feed the kids and then eat when I put them down for a nap. Nothing as nice as sitting down at the table alone. I have been so much better with my diet when I forced myself to stop skipping meals and eat before I was overly hungry (so I don't overeat). I hate hate making meals all day for my kids, add in that my twins cannot have dairy either its very limiting.

OMG! I think the same thing every day! My husband works out of our home, so most days - at about 1:30p, we go, "Alright, where should we go - what do you want?" Anna is on a pretty regimented food schedule that way, lunch same time each day and I usually have it planned. But I never know what to eat for myself. I love soups and salads but we have seriously beat the Panera thing to death! I also tire of subs and sandwiches which is what I'm usually forced to make when I don't feel like going out for take-out. Anyway, it seems like a good soup cookbook would be a good idea for us, and just add some side salad. That would be easy, it'll just take some forethought so we'd have them ready to grab at lunchtime. I'm with you on the easy thing, though. I make breakfast and a nice dinner, so I really want a break during her naptime.

I hate lunch time... it's always the same thing ... sandwiches or left-overs... I choose not to eat! GOod luck on the whole thing! :-)

Your lunch description of just picking at junk is right where I am. Occasionally I will have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the kids but for me I just don't want to have to figure out another meal. Dinner is enough. :)
