Wordful Wednesday-hitting the jeans lottery

*Wordful Wednesday is for those of us that like to showcase a photo(s) but that just can't seem keep our mouths shut about it(them). If you'd like to play along, post a photo on your blog, and let the words roll. Feel free to "capture" my 7 Clown Circus button on the left to link back to me, and be sure to add yourself to Mr. Linky. Thanks for playing along!

I'm an unrepentant jeans snob.

Well, that's not exactly true. I feel guilty saying that out loud. It sounds amazingly close to bragging. I'm pretty sure it is. But that guilt doesn't change anything. I still only buy and wear designer jeans. If it's a sin, I'll repent later.

For now, I have to tell you about hitting the jeans lottery.....sort of. There wasn't much gambling involved.

Craigslist was the conduit by which I found the deal of my lifetime. For less than a tenth of their purchase price, I obtained a pair of Hudson's, a pair of AG's, a pair of Joe's, a pair of Bebe cords and 2 pairs of Citizen of Humanity jeans.

All I had to do was trust that the seller would actually send me the jeans after my check cleared.

What's that saying? "All's well that end's well?"

It ended well. Oh so well.

Yay for you! Ain't nothin' like a pair of well-fitting jeans.

Oh..awesome deal!!

How funny......I was just talking designer jeans with a friend. She was asking if designer jeans were really worth the money. I wouldn't know cause the most I pay is for Gap jeans!

But if the fit well, I say they are worth it! I love that you got such a great deal. :)

Gotta love Craigslist! What a deal :)

Craigslist is wonderful. I do more selling than buying, but I just turn the money around and go shopping, so it's all good. :)

That is too funny! I never thought about Craigslist as a source. Lucky you!

Brenda said...

Then you need to come and visit me. Right across the border from us in Brazil is a store called Pura Mania, who also is the manufacturer of Diesel Jeans. My daughter buys a pair there every year and I know for sure she has had two of them for over 8 years. The only glitch is that you need a Brazilian butt for them to fit you . . . ;)

Anonymous said...

Good for you! I recently heard a story on the news of a lady who trusted someone and didn't work out so well on Craigslist. There are good people out there :)

Hootin Anni said...

I live in jeans! I so love these colors you have. And the more I wear them, the more comfortable they get.

My Wordful is just how cold it is here...and there's proof. Oh, and a couple of slices of blackberry pie I'm raffling off today [just kidding!!!!!]

Come on over. But make sure you're wearing something warm and wuzzy!!!

Wow, then you'll love this. Or hate it actually, that I only own one pair of jeans. One pair!!!!! I don't know what it is. I am just the worst girl when it comes to jeans. I don't go out and buy them. But that is my goal in 2009 to have at least 4 pair I like. Oh, there is one pair at the tailor I am getting hemmed. That makes 2!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heather said...

Most of my jeans are from Old Navy or the Gap. lol!

United Studies said...

I just read an article in a magazine highlighting all the great deals on ebay...snagging designer duds on a fraction of the cost. I never thought about searching Craigslist. I'll have to browse the ads...

Now, just a little FYI, either I'm a total 'band' geek, or I just suck, because I have never heard of those jeans!

Does CK still make them-because he's the one I know.?

Yeah, I know. I'll take the help;)

Anonymous said...

Love it!
Now I wanna head over to craig's list to find a score like that!

Bonnie the Boss said...

Congrats Ang! I wish my butt would fit in those cute jeans!

Jaysi said...

Wow! That is so exciting for you. I can't say I have ever purchased jeans on craigslist, but maybe I should check it out.

There used to be two girls in Phoenix who did jean parties. They would bring racks and racks of designer jeans to your house. You could buy any pair for $90!! They have left their "business" and opened some sort of spa. I have often thought I should contact them and ask them how they did it. I miss the "parties".

Casey's trio said...

Now that is a frugal shopper and I love it!!

I'm impressed! I wish I could buy clothes without having to try them on first... :(

Wish I could participate today, but your meme is too popular & I don't have time today to read everyone's blogs. :(

My post today would totally fit, but I just don't feel right signing up on Mr. Linky & not reading other people's blogs. Gotta play fair! LOL!

Have a great day!!

Sandra said...

My rather large, protruding derierre (sp) hasn't been able to fit into a pair of jean since before kids.

I feel so much better now!

Have a lovely day!

That's awesome. I'm jealous.

Whoot! Awesome jean find! My jean of choice is Lucky, so let me know if you come across any great deals.

KatieZ said...

Angie, you are a lot like me! I only buy designer jeans. Everything else can be whatever, but the jeans...they have to be designer. I guess because of the way they are made, or maybe because of the way that I am made. Either way, I am a pant snob too!

Melissa said...

Nice! Very nice indeed!

I am oh so VERY jealous right now. As you are aware I share your same sin for the love of designer jeans. I too will only wear designer jeans. My hubby always jokes that if there was a fire in our house he would run in and save my jeans :)

That is a rocking deal. You lucky girl!!

I am a fellow jean snob too, I'll admit it. My deal of a lifetime was when I found a pair of Seven for All Mankind jeans at Marshal's marked down from $198 to $60. Not too shabby. BUT something tells me you got a way better deal than that! Never thought to check Craigs List for jeans before, but now I know the secret! Thanks! Happy WW!

I love jeans myself. Can't have enough!!! And a good deal, why I would never pass by!!!

Jocasta said...

What a great find, and I love the colors too.

There's nothing wrong with buying designer jeans...I think you pay more because they fit better and last longer.

I need to check Craigslist more often!

Stephanie said...

Never thought to look on there! I know my sis has found great jeans on ebay. I'm one that has to try on though....but I could really use some new jeans, and a deal would be perfect!

Unknown said...

You're so lucky to have been able to get jeans off of Craigslist. I HAVE to try on first because jeans and I have a love/hate relationship, especially when it comes to fit!

Get find Angie. Have fun wearing them!

To say that I'm jealous is an understatement! Seriously?!! I am just praying that I can fit back into my designer jeans someday soon!!!

WheresMyAngels said...

Who? Who? Who? Who? lol Yeah, I don't know many brand names these days.

I own one pair of jeans (that I can fit into that is). When I was skinny, I liked them. Now that I'm a plus size, they don't feel as good. I'm a skirt and slacks woman.
