Cooking. Food. Love/Hate.
I like cooking. Sometimes. I love food. Most of the time.
If it's prepared just right, or has lots of sugar, that is.
Life would be much easier if I just didn't have to prepare food. All. the. time.
Since I don't have a magic genie to grant my wish, I've found a few cooking tools that deserve a toast.
First of all, this 3 ring binder that was compiled for my SIL's bridal shower. Everyone needs a easily accessible lot of tried and true recipes.
Next, this recipe for only-the-best banana bread I've ever tasted. Ever. I'll post the complete recipe on my cooking blog next week.
Not exactly a tool. But a must have. For sure. Thanks, Jan.
And lastly, this cook book by Pampered Chef is fantastic. It contains diverse recipes using fresh ingredients, and all can be prepared in under 30 minutes. Oh, and they taste really good too.

I LOVE to cook--but don't get a chance to do it much anymore. 4 boys do not appreciate the subtle nuiances of gourmet fare and prefer frozen burritos instead. Ah well! I'll come cook for you---I do believe I'll be back there in February :0)
29 minutes to cook and uses fresh ingredients? I need to check out that cookbook!
I never trust recipes that say you can make dinner in 30-minutes or less. :-) There's always a catch.
i would come cook for you but.. you wouldnt be happy. i'm really terrible at it!
that banana bread sounds delish!!
The reservation idea is awesome...why haven't I thought of that yet???
I was really counting on someone to come cook for me. Dang...you took em all now!
Since February is a short month if you get any extra volunteers will you send them my way? :)
I'm a very critical cook, my wife says it's great when I'm always putting myself down for imperfections.
Here's a link to my post of a cat meeting a ceiling fan
You know, I was just thinking this morning that if I ever won the lottery, I would hire a personal chef. I love food, but I just don't have time to cook anymore!
i hear ya. and whenever i do find inspiration to cook (rarely), i never have the right food in the house. i do have bananas that are a little past ripe. and it IS finally snowing. maybe some banana muffins would be a nice treat for the snow rats, if they ever come back inside.
Love that pampered chef cookbook too.
I would LOVE to come and cook for you. You just provide the plane ticket and I will be there.
I go in spurts--sometimes I love to cook, other times, it's almost painful!! My husband, on the other hand is a WONDERFUL cook. He goes all out, too! Dinner's always good with him around! (You probably wouldn't like our food, lately, though. Trying to be all healthy and stuff!)
i wish I liked cooking. Sigh. I just have no patience for it whatsoever.
So unless REALLY like soup or different versions of pasta for dinner all week, you DEFINITELY don't want me coming by to help feed your family. :)
I LOVE to cook and BAKE..
sooo if you are willing to come watch my little angels while i can have the entire kitchen to myself..i will be happy to cook for you..and ..umm my husband too..can he join ya..he really needs a good meal..lol.
Wow, that would be quite the trip to cook you dinner...;) Could we go get a cup of coffee when we were done before I catch a flight back?
I love PC recipes...they really are easy and yummy!
They say an army travels on it's stomach.....I believe a family does too! Getting those kids involved early and often helps them in the long run. I make a point of helping each of my kids prep one meal each time we are together. Not PB&J either.....but a real "cut, chop, saute, bake, marinade, preheat the oven" meal. By the time they get to college, I can flee the country and never look back....as if. I'll have to look for that last cookbook too!
I gotta be honest, Angie...if you ever find your way over to our house for dinner, you may be asked to unwrap things and help pop them in the microwave...
if we had a recipe book, we couldnt kick it down the stairs.
I could cook BUT someone else would HAVE to do the dishes. Really dishes are the dealbreaker or maker for me. I loath washing dishes.
30 minutes or less? wow, that just might save us from take out tonight!
I would be happy to cook for you as long as I don't have to do the dishes...lol!
I have an award waiting for you at my blog.
Love to cook, but not so good at following recipes here!

I enjoy cooking, I just hate having to do it everyday!
I love to cook and bake but I don't enjoy cleaning up after it! I would love to come and cook for you except I don't think my kids or hubby would be very happy with my. They would starve!
That cookbook does look good. I may have to find that one! I feel the same way about cooking. Sometimes I am really into it and sometimes I'm like "Do we HAVE to eat AGAIN??"
In my fantasy life I employ a personal chef and housekeeper. I get to take care of the kids all day and play!
Girl after my own heart! I have a binder full of recipes in page protectors too. Couldn't live without it. Banana bread? My darn kids leave bananas to go brown so I *have* to make banana bread.
I do already own a PC chopper, whick I absolutely LOVE, now all I need is the cookbook.

Thanks for the magic cooking tools! Cooking for me it all depends on my mood...
I LOVE Pampered Chef!! I used to be a consultant.
I love to cook as well. If I were closer I'd cook for you in February. I love Deceptively Delicious and Food Adventures, but what I love most of all is making recipes up.
Cooking is not my favorite thing to do. Wouldn't it be great to have someone cook for you? I love Pampered Chef recipes...they are always so easy.
♥ Cooking is not one of my favorite things to do, maybe like you said it's because we have to cook ALL THE TIME! That pampered chef cook book looks great! :)
I've actually started to like cooking. I learned to keep it simple and turns out my family gobbles it up. If I spend hours on something, nobody wants to touch it.
I am right there with you. Sometimes I love cooking and then I get burnt out (no pun intended:-).
I can't cook AT ALL, but I would be happy to take you out to lunch at McDonalds! Extra fries!
I love when I can cook a meal without any interuptions...which usually never happens. So, I just appreciate the meal that I actually get to finish because it may be the only thing I actually started AND finished that day. LOL!
You know I am right there with you!!
I need that 29 minutes to dinner cookbook! I don't like deciding what to cook... that's the hardest part for me!
Part of the fun of going to visit Jojo and Ali are the wonderful meals and treats they always cook up, it is so nice to have someone cook for you, (although I do like to join in the fun).
Your invitation made me laugh!
February in So Cal...warm sunshine and you? All I have to do is cook? Hmmmm...tempting!!
I have a book of recipes from my bridal shower, too, that I use for some go to recipes. I also mark in my books the date I cooked a recipe and any comments, so I know whether to make it again or not!
You got me craving banana bread. I have plenty of bananas in the freezer just calling my name!
You KNOW I would come there in a heartbeat and cook for you!!!!!!!!
I'm with you there Angie. Cooking is not one of my favorite past times either. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I feel like I'm always in the kitchen feeding somebody!
It's not so bad when the kids are at school but when I have all six home it's rather hectic.
Jeremiah likes to cook, just wish he could be home more to take over! Guess that would mean I would have to go to work. Don't think I would like that trade off either.
I have a 3 ring binder for my kitchen too. I am working on updating it though.
Hey sign me up for a night :)
That book looks good--I love cook books.
